- Another super day with the Atherstone. This is my first year without Finn (RIP), which was very sad and strange, but Tilly definitely stepped up to the task. She's only 4, so I didn't go jumping everything, but she flew over lots of rails, ditches and a couple of hedges perfectly. She stood like a rock in the crowded square with cheering and horses leaping around her; she is a very special young horse! Incredibly well behaved at only her third hunt meet.

My goodness me. I was in Atherstone for Boxing Day in 1997 I think and it wasn't anything like as well attended as that one was, does this mean that the people of Atherstone are now aware of what they are in their town and as such now come out to support?

I dont support hunting however I do think that you are an amazing person with an amazing mare also sorry for your loss.

flip inheck I just say it is not against the law cos I have done a lot of research and if they are found on farmers land then they can shoot them. My dad told me this and he he said I don’t see why people are getting angry cos if they don’t get killed by a hunter they will probably be shoot by a farm so they need up dead any way. and they come under pest and they spread illness but I don’t agree with killing them if you have to kill the animal maybe not do it in such a horrible way
flip inheck I do go on hunts there is two types well that’s what I think any ways you have the family one that is a set rout that I go on and if they go after a fox or any animal they are not aloud to ride and we don’t have hounds

People turn up to watch at all hunts. But you get more on the Boxing Day meet.
Got to love a hunt but I’m not a huge fan at fox hunting really but I do love a clean boot hunt ❤️ also I hate it when you take your washed grey and you come back and she’s brown lol I do love a hunt even tho I’ve only been to 4 hunts I love that fact with how many people participate with hunts too❤️

I am an equestrian, live in the countryside and it’s blatant that they are fox hunting under the guise of trail hunting. If it were trail hunting you wouldn’t need terrier men on quads with spades would you? You wouldn’t need a load of people on foot checking under bridges for cubs... Please stop with the lies. The only legitimate “hunting” is drag hunting with human quarry using blood hounds.

The hunting sign they were shouting and flapping signs I had to get of my and pull out of the hunt last year because my mare was to spooked
@flip inheck Foxes are hunters too you know. They kill rabbits and even steal their babies. I had a fox get into my coop and slaughter all the chickens, except the one it took to eat. They don't have retirement homes for foxes. When they're old or diseased, they die a slow and painful death by starvation, or disease. If you need to show your love animals then protest the slaughterhouses that Halal slaughter. They hang a beast by it's hind legs and slit it's throat. Cattle have a vein up the back of their necks, so blood keeps pumping to the brain. I've seen a poor animal survive like this for 7 minutes. You eat Meat? At least foxes have a chance, not like my chickens.

Wish I was there with a box of fireworks and firecrackers, it would be carnage with horses bolting everywhere, fox hunting is barbaric and should confined to the history books.
I agree in some ways but that’s just as ignorant by thinking that doing such a stupid and hideous thing would help at all just because hunting is barbaric does not mean the people who do it’s horses should be abused for no reason

It sounded a bit like communist North Korea with the woman, presumably a female Master screaming away into the loud hailer at the Meet. Your horse's ears were pricked forward all the time, as were mine, and she jumped beautifully. Great video.

Literally state at the start it's a drag hunt, fox hunting is illegal. 90% of the horses and people that go on these hunts aren't in any way affiliated with the huntsmen, they just go out for a ride.

I am sure it is very exhilarating, however you should have found another way, a competition or a treasure hunt or something without the dogs who 'accidentally' get a scent. It is a shame because it is a lovely spectacle, but the arrogance of a lot of the hunters will eventually destroy their way of life, you have to change with the times.
