High quality, top-drawer "pop" ... but way above & beyond the simplistic stuff we hear these days. The musical content here is really beautiful, sophisticated, but totally easy to listen to.
I love this song. Such a great groove. Jay is remarkable as always. This is what musicians look like. The term artist is for those who are not musicians.
Were the Graydon All Stars a regular assembly of studio musicians? Can we identify them all by name? Porcaro on keys stage right, maybe? He looked 30 years younger I guess.....doesn't resemble him today, but I guess could be him. Williams did a stint as front-man for Lukather & Company when Kimball went AWOL, correct? He has that kind of voice. Didn't recognize any other Toto members....drummer is an enigma, bass player, etc. Excellent acoustics and audio overall. It sounded like music from the 80's and early 90's.
J'adore...
Hi Music Lovers - - you know Jay Graydon - played the solo on Steely Dan's “Peg” (look up the video with Fagan and Becker on that) and a million other things. This is a (sort of) live performance and I am still picking this apart but here’s who I see in the video so far, besides Jay who cuts a great solo near the end of the cut. It is clearly not a live cut -but still a great song with world-class players. - -Joseph Williams on lead vocals - think Mushanga and Pamela by Toto - world class high vocals. His dad is John Williams who wrote the music scores for Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, the Indiana Jones films, the first two Jurassic Park films; dozens of Grammy and academy awards. On the right side of the stage - -Bill Champlin (Chicago, Sons of Champlin, etc.) on vocals and keys on the far right of the stage. -Steve Porcaro - one of the 3 Porcaro brothers of Toto, who did the “Rosanna” synth part - his synth work here is unmistakable. The Drummer is Pat Mastelotto - he was the drummer who kicked ass on ALL of the Mr. Mister records - now with King Crimson. One of the best rock drummer sounds ever . Look for his vids. I would love to know who the bass, other guitar and 3rd keyboardist (on the left) are. Thanks.
Sherwood Ball is on the other guitar and sings lead on a couple of the songs he cowrote on the Airplay for the Planet album. Bill Cantos is the first keyboard player left of the drums. He also sings and cowrites on the Airplay for the Planet album and I first saw him singing as part of Phil Collins backing singers.
The video doesn't show the performance of the audio. The audio is from the studio-version as mentioned at the end. 5:14 and 5:39. The drummer is not synchron with the music and it seems, that the audio is with a drum-computer. Strange, that Jay Graydon did not let a real drummer play, since he knew plenties of excellent drummers he could have asked. Also the drumsound appears quite cheap and "dead". Not his best work. If I imagine Jeff Porcaro sitting on the drumkit and and laying down his wonderful groove, as he did on "Nothing You can do about it" ... oh, this song could be so wonderful! ❤
As noted in the video (at approx. 5:13) the audio is from the - AIRPLAY FOR THE PLANET - album, remastered for Japan in 2018, and added in the video upon request of the Japanese label. The authentic concert audio can be heard in the JAY GRAYDON ALL STARS 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION - 4 DVD box set - jaygraydon.com/JG_All_Stars_20th_Anniversary.htm

Really? Wow! Good thing about them is that tho they were not playing as Toto but they helped each other.
Noo shit dick tracey

I would prefer to have the real live sound.. :(
But the recorded version is also good.
Yachtie! Awesome
wait is that Jojo from Toto?
yessirrrr
Does the original live audio exist for this song?
sort of like neale schon, his best work on the radio apart from peg would twilight zone with manhattan transfer
he's re-re-re-re-re-mixing the 2nd record....better be a 2x cd
I think, the Backgroundgirl on the right is Joes wife amye....looks Like...
Yes farthest to the right
Where I can see the whole concert??
Is this the studio recording we are listening to ? ...........Jay's solo is not in sync with the video.

Simba is that you?
Strange these consummate professionals had to overdub the track ?
The live audio is on the dvd. I don’t know why it’s overdubbed here or the purpose of the picture interjections
Probably pre toto for JW.
Another TOTO
agreed very similar sound
Same singer Joseph Williams
Lip syncing?
You are hearing the studio track version, NOT LIVE!
サンクス😅
