I'm in Philadelphia. Born in South, living in west, got fam in North. I love my city - I do think it's just some people that must hate the city, that make it harder for others. It can get better and it will. Beanie is a legend and regardless of what he says or what people don't appreciate him saying - he's an OG. A Muslim brotha at that. Just as he spoke out of turn about something meek didn't want exposed. They should've talked to Beanie - instead of what happened. I know OGs that speak like Beanie do - even when they text..He didn't mean it disrespectful when he was discussing Lil UZI - times has changed. The majority of people that would listen to Beanie back when he was out strong as ever would be the younger crowd. Today's younger crowd appeals to Lil UZI...more than just hood rap. I feel like Beans was just saying Lil Uzi - even if he comes back to the city, the goons, thugs and rappers (no matter what age, that live in Philly) - won't be able to relate to Uzi's life style or bang with his singing or his approach to rap. But Meek raps and appeals to those that mainly like trap music or hood music. Times has changed. So I took what Beans said as simply this - "Yo meek, you gotta hold down the niggas back in Philly, because you still rep the city and Uzi won't appeal to the motherfukkas like you and I". No matter what, people from our city get so much negative attention for being so "crime - dominated". I think if they just step back and talk like men and leave the "dying" for those that think they have no way out ( because Beanie & Meek will always have ways out)...they should be showing the brothas of this city what it is to let shyt go, move on or help one another even if you don't reap the benefits in a timely matter. #HopefullyThatMakesSense

I'm from Philly, North Philly actually. I would say as an artist that's actually trying to create some buzz, it's really difficult at this time because everybody rides the Meek wave and gets called out for it, and lyricist aren't taken seriously here because it's all about the "street life" in a way and we're not known to always be respectful to other music artist from our city. Like, Atlanta rappers seem to always got each other's back, but Philly rappers are always beefing with each other and it's done nothing but support the crab in a barrel mentality and many people who could've made it big in the industry or with music overall get shut down because of all the negative energy, or lack of support from "fans". It's crazy cause we really got some talent over here.
