the part about losing a piece of your identity is incredibly true and so relatable. it’s something that i’ve ever heard anybody else talk about before though. i am a dancer and i developed a stress fracture, about two years ago as of now, that put me in a boot for a few months. it’s not the first fracture i’ve had from dancing, but during my assessment, the doctor noticed a congenital deformity that had been causing tendon dysfunction and chronic pain most of my life, and was worsened by dancing. once my fracture healed, i had surgery to reconstruct my collapsed arch and fix the malformation. i was unable to dance for 9 months during that time and it was one of the most miserable times in my life. dance is something that i define myself by and is an integral part of my identity. it felt like an identity crisis like you said. the physical pain and recovery were easier to deal with than the mental aspect of it all, and it seems not many people mention that.
thank you millie, you‘re an inspiration, you keep me going everyday even when i feel down due to my chronic illness and pain. please continue to make content❤ all the best to you girlie💕
Don't rush things. I broke the main bone under my ankle in my foot and spider fractured the bones down the top of the foot separating/tearing the tendons to my toes. I was 12 weeks non weight bearing and then got my boot. It took years before the involuntary spasms stopped that made my toes curl backwards with horrible cramping pain. I was 30, I am now 60. I have been able to ride bikes, roller blade, swim, climb, ride horses, dance, wear pretty shoes and I can pick things up with my toes like a pencil and write my name with that foot. It grumbles in the cold now and I get a cramp down the side so I wear slippers to warm it and the pain stops. when its cold and damp wear leg warmers under your clothes and a good pair of warm dry comfortable shoes/boots. NEVER GIVE UP.
U might have already answered this question, but did you get another doctor to do ur surgeries after the 1st one made a mistake? If so, did you sue ur original doctor that allowed you to walk around on a broken leg? If u wouldn't have asked for a second opinion when looking st ur xrsys- at ur final doctors visit, they would have sent u homw to continue walking on ur broken leg. In america we call that a malpractice case.
She lives in the UK.we don't get to pick our doctors or sue individual healthcare workers as healthcare is free. Sure you can make a complaint & if investigated you can take the trust (each county has its own NHS trust) to court but unfortunately that doesn't happen often
I've had 4 sports related surgeries on my right knee, and the chronic pain has really been a problem ever since!! so I can kinda relate with your pain somewhat. Also a word to the wise be carful with the types and strengths of your meds because I've been on strong pain meds since my second op and even when I try stop taking them its nearly impossible because of the withdrawals. I hope you get better btw, it seems you have alot of support online and I applaud your bravery to show the process of getting surgery, I would have loved to have seen something like this 12 years ago when I first got hurt.
Just saw your video on Snapchat, and wanted to let you know how strong you are, keep up the good fight! But I know the feeling to an extent because cars are my passion and own four and because of brain surgery I have epilepsy and memory loss and can't drive anymore and its hard, but I continually tell myself "it could be worse" and that's the one thing which keeps my spirits up
I have to do blood thinner injections called enoxaprin every day(used to be twice a day) and I've been doing it for, gosh, five+ years now but I do mine into my stomach. It's become so normal to me that I've literally done it with VR goggles on 😂
I can't believe that you are still with the same doctor who made so many mistakes. And you still haven't sued them. What the heck girl! Stand up for yourself and don't let that asshole get away with this.
Hey I just wanna let you know God has already told me that men have hurt you in the past mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, but understand that everyone goes through something hard in their life. I know you have a girlfriend ma’am and I completely understand that->
But it says in Leviticus that man shall not lay with man and woman shall not lay with women. I could tell you my story as well ma’am and tell you how I got through it and how the Holy Spirit got me through it❤️
We all fail Jesus everyday and I’m not trying to discourage your decisions or persuade you to do anything ma’am, but I encourage you to really get into the word and walk with the Lord with all of your mind, body, soul, and strength❤️ he has something great for you in heaven one day.

@@succulio4794 yeah.. unfortunately that is the case with our healthcare system, which makes it even harder to track malpractice and deal with it.

Wow. This is so intense. How many people does this sort of injury happen to per year? Seems very rare.
