INTERLAKEN: Interlaken is a Swiss town and municipality in the canton of Bern. It is an important and World famous tourist destination in the Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss Alps, and the main transport gateway to the mountains and lakes of that region. This vacation destination, which is presided over by the three mighty mountains, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, is the starting point for numerous activities. The town is located between two lakes, Brienz to the east and Thun to the west, and alongside the river Aare, which flows between them. Transport routes to the east and west alongside the lakes are complemented by a route southwards into the near mountain resorts and high mountains, e.g. the famous high Alpine peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, following upwards the Lütschine.

GRINDELWALD: The famous village of Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland lies embedded in a welcoming and green hollow, surrounded by a commanding mountainscape with the Eiger north face and the Wetterhorn. This mountainscape and the numerous lookout points and activities make Grindelwald one of the most popular and cosmopolitan holiday and excursion destinations in Switzerland, and the largest ski resort in the Jungfrau region. It is the diversity of this glacier village that makes it so attractive.
A wide range of activities and recreational opportunities amidst unspoiled nature is waiting to be discovered. The high-altitude walk from Grindelwald-First along the Bachalpsee to the Faulhorn mountain hotel and then on to the Schynige Platte ranks among the most beautiful hikes of the region. An easy walk with fantastic views of the three, world-famous mountains of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau leads from the Männlichen up onto the Kleine Scheidegg. It's also a base for mountain-climbing ascents up the iconic north face of Eiger Mountain. Gletscherschlucht, a glacial gorge just outside Grindelwald, features paths with interpretive signage, waterfalls and striated limestone walls. The flow of Black Lütschine river adds more charms to this beautiful village. The first cableway in the Alps was built here in 1908 on the Wetterhorn. And in 1912, a railway reached the Jungfraujoch via Kleine Scheidegg; and remains Europe’s highest railway station until now and a world-renowned excursion destination within permanent snow and ice. The new Eiger Express tricable gondola, launched in Dec. 2019, will take you from Grindelwald to the Eiger Glacier station in just 15 minutes. With a direct transfer option, you will be on the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe and on the slopes 47 minutes faster than before. More info:

I was fortunate to take this Train Trip with my best friends and we had a blast hiking in the Mtns in the Summer at Grindewald. SW was the most beautiful & scenic country we saw during our visit to Europe. Two big thumbs up!

2:47 It's a long train we are on. Is tourism still alive and kicking in Switzerland despite Covid? Here in Australia, some states are worse than others. In Queensland where I live, we currently have no lockdowns and such, we just have to wear a mask and work from home if possible. Some states like New South Wales are struggling. Over a 1000 cases every day and a few deaths as well. Quite scary actually.
Right! Back to your video. What can I say? It's superb! My daughter and I are blown over. Watching it on a big screen tv, the awesomeness of Switzerland is bigger and better. Thanks for taking the time to dazzle us. These two gals are forever grateful. 💞
Regarding long train- Train leaving from Interlaken always carries two sets of coaches: one for Lauterbrunnen passengers and other for passengers to Grindelwald. At Zweilütschinen station, lauterbrunnen coaches are separated and sent to lauterbrunnen. Thereafter, you will see reduced length of train 😉
