ABOUT PROKO:
Instructional How to Draw videos for artists. My drawing lessons are approachable enough for beginners and detailed enough for advanced artists. My philosophy is to teach timeless concepts in an entertaining way. I believe that when you are having fun, you learn better. I take pride in producing high quality videos that you will enjoy watching and re-watching.
Not only is bro an amazing artist, he looks as if Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal had a baby
Apart of watching the making of a masterpiece or learning from a great painter ,what I enjoyed most in today's live is the sweet personality of Aaron and casual rendezvous between you two ❤️❤️

I liked his method of painting one section at a time. He didn't draw the whole head first, but worked from the eyes outward. It would help me to get proportions right.
I took many lessons from him a long time ago at the California Art Institute. A really good teacher. I spent one full year doing one color . He wouldn't allow to use multiple colors until my third year. Grateful for his discipline.
I'm not a great artist but I did get to do many CEOs and board painting for some good $.
He has unbelievable patience.
I'm impressed that he can paint while he takes questions, it's difficult to get used to splitting your mind like that.
he practiced a lot, so it goes automatically
I think it's not that hard
Wow I can't believe I finished this from start to end! Really fun and useful watch. Awesome work
Aaron sounds a lot like Jeff Watts as he's talking and explaining the painting.
True , they have almost the same voice . Bother amazing painters.
So mesmerizing. Almost hypnotic. I just love this...so gorgeous. Groovy is definitely a word for it.... here forever I am happy to paint abstract and my happiness is when my friends can see me the various results of the abstract painting process that I make. 😊 thank you my friend.
That discussion about the painters good looks and his cute embarrassment was real funny 🤣🤣🤣
The artist has real skills
thanks to this video discovered this pallette and it´s love at first sight not gonna lie... he sold it really well
Good video. It was interesting listening to young’ns talking about art school in the 90’s and later. It doesn’t sound like it’s changed a lot. I was in CCA in the 70’s. Oil was the only painting medium. However Aaron’s comments about paint, pastel and oil painting in classes disturbed me. As far as solvents and oil paints, I can somewhat sympathize with the schools, even though most use odorless, flammable liquids can be a problem. An alternative is to use walnut oil for cleaning, as well as a painting medium. Masters (the old guys used it) and it does a fine job of cleaning brushes, certainly during a painting session. Most of what you hear about the toxicity of oil paints, and pastels are myths. Unless you plan on eating it, even cadmium colors will do you no harm. Yes, the dust from pastels should not be inhaled. Someone asked about pyrrole red. It’s a color that has come out and and seems to be primarily advertised as an alternative to cad red. It’s a color that Mark Carder uses in his paints. I don’t particularly like it. To me it’s a red that just doesn’t look natural to me.
I don’t “like” it - I love it! I learned so much and laughed with you two on and off throughout!
The zorn palette was in use in the first century in Egypt: Fayum mummy portraits. They were painted with Encoustic paints. They’re stunningly amazing. Four basic colors with some additions. Why not give them credit? Like you stated other artists use that system BECAUSE it’s old! Look it up!
I much appreciate the flexibility in discovering that practically all hues can be done with a Zorn palette and those 2-3 additional colors. I always wonder why manufacturers are making an average of 70-80 colors. Than who buys them?
You studied with jeff watts ? That explains why Your figurative drafting skills are so good. Awesome work.
Here is a question a little off topic for this video, exept it has to do with Zorn. I recently went to a Zorn show in Stockholm to study his oils, but was also blown away by noticing that his watercolours are full of opaque paint everywhere in the paintings and almost no paper white saved. It looked like he painted his watercolours like he painted his oils. In his landscapes he seemed to just paint grass over grass with half opaque strokes, and i'm very curious if you know more about his technique when painting watercolour? Because how he made those paintings like that without ruining the paper or making mud with the opaque watercolour is a mystery to me. Anyway i absolutely loved this video and i went straight to Proko to see his course! Thanks!
Sir you are great 👍, you are my teacher 🤗 and you are my goal 🥅 and you are my inspiration 🤗❤️
Aaron is my favourite. The guy's art just moves me. And I'm so amazing at this demonstration that I got for free. Like, holy shit. If I had the coin, I would buy the full demonstrations. WHEN I have the coin I will buy it. So amazing.
Zorn pallet taught me discipline and has produced some of my best work
I always enjoy learning from your channel
Great stream! Sad I missed it.
Yesterday I bought the zorn pallete and needed some info on it I was blessed with this video
Westerberg seems like a fun dude to just do art with or talk about art to. What a good livestream
Really enjoyed this! Thank you for all the valuable information. I’m amazed he can answer questions and paint. It’s one thing to explain what your doing, but answering random questions is impressive. He inspired me to maybe do a few black and white studies and really focus on textures. I enjoy painting with color but it might be nice to remove it so I can focus on refining other aspects of my work.
great vid, thanks! :D
Does anyone knows what happened to the drawing basics course? Is it still on the making or was it cancelled? I don't want to be annoying or out of topic, i'm just curious because i was really excited and waiting for that one
Greate video, youtube best channel thx...the full video to buy is only in english?

Just wonderful
Aaron is hot 🖤🥺
Oscar Isaac deadringer right?
The bread was used by many artist long agoto erase charcoal when drawing. They did not have kneaded eraser back then.
iam artist u do nice work
I am not so much into traditional painting and colour palettes. Nonetheless this is super interesting. Thank you!
How did he get the brilliant blue in his scarf in the first picture you showed? To blue to come out of the black?
This reference would have been good for using Quin Magenta.
Amazing!
Is it just me but does the lady in the portrait change her gaze from looking down, eyes closed to looking up to the left, eyes open?
You are painting from a photograph right? I was just watching an artist who said that if you want to have a loose painting not to paint from a photograph, hello? By looking at your work I find it's not so true what she was saying. Now, what I find fantastic is that you are using only white, cad red, and black and is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing with us your talent.
In long term, it's better to paint from life
painting from a photo often creates problems with the planes and perspective in the final portrait, which are very clear in the portrait he finishes in this video. painting from life is always the best choice if you can do it, but its not always possible to have a live model so we have to make compromises
cant paint talk at the same time, unless you are Bob Ross, but seriously its a lot harder than it looks to stay focused.
Than you
What was the video about? I got a little distracted by George Clooney on the right side of the screen 😍
He looks like young Mark Carder! ^^
Nice owsom I love you 💓💓
Hello
Does anyone have a link or the correct spelling of the artist he mentioned (faceon??) or the documentary by George Mason?? Im not having any luck myself with google or UA-cam. Thank u ✌🏻
Nicolai Fechin

Not identically the same at 32:00. I was fooled 12 years ago. Two different patterns!
wow this guy is hot
Cen you bisit also my house sir
Bruce Banner
Hi, are ya live right now??
This video should be titled: "um", "ah", "you know", "yeah", "cough." VOL I.
He's a Great painter, just not a good speaker! 😜
I mean the majority of people do that. This is the magic of live streaming.
yeah man! hundreds of "you know" ...it's a pain to listen, great painter though.
When you can paint as well as him and answer questions at the same time... until then, maybe sticking to scripted videos would save you the pain of watching a live feed.
He is weak
Important comment. Thanks for contributing.
Pathetic comment.
You're right. The painting isn't even amateurish and it took 3 hours.
@Skull Yes, I found it entertaining and informative.
Sir it's a demo, you can't make a detailed painting in just 2-3 hours, besides he's probably distracted with all the talking and all the cameras around him.
Too many vocalfillers: ums, ahs, so a, but a, ok, right, ya know, ya, said by the artist. This grandma was expecting a more professional presentation.Too bad. The ‘zorn’ palate goes back as far as the first century. Fayum portrait painters used it.
Please stop saying “you know” and “ I don’t know”. It’s driving me crazy!!!
If you don’t know, and we did know, we wouldn’t need to watch your video.
Um, oh, i wanted , ya know, um kinda wanna say, yeh, …….. you know…….ah, a, so…………….bad1
An excellent artist, but this video is unbearable to listen to. You know... so, yeah... Sadly, I don't know and but, no. :)
Messy, messy, messy palate. You could paint a mural with all that. The cuteness makes this worth watching but the layout is tedious. You piddled around for almost 3 hours and only get a rough out, sigh.
Um, smack, yeah so, um, so yeah, um, you know, um, smack,
Ahhh .. ahhhh super annoying !!! Terrible dictation
he's no kim jung gi
Kim jung is kinda overrated
no one is kim jung gi except for kim jung gi
@@brushogun2051 not even a little bit. your jealousy is showing
@@honey3762 youre not wrong.
Hey, man. I hope you feel better soon and get through your struggles ok. No one who’s doing well leaves a foul comment like this. Everyone does their own thing. Different artists move us in different ways. When artists start to compare themselves, that’s when they get really discouraged and end up quitting. “He got there in 3 years. I’ve been working at this for 6 years and I’m not anywhere close to them.” So what? If you love it, you love it. Just keep doing it and try to improve as much as possible in order to successfully express your specific thing. Even if your thing is just, “I love trees.” Well, try to paint trees in a way that makes others understand why you love trees so much.
Hi, It seems that the discount code doesn't work anymore, any offer? thank you
