Hey, Swim. Thanks for the deckbuild. I noticed when I clicked on EZ Teemo decklist to compare to my build that the description where you mention Starlit Seer and Sejuani doesn't match the actual declist since it has only Teemo and Ezreal. I guess you updated the declist based on the new meta but didn't change the description on site. All the best to you.
That Azirelia deck took a pretty full swing too, it's not as if they didn't draw their cards. I was amazed how the poros made it look like a chump deck
Swim has taught me so much about the kind of thought processes to make when deckbuilding. What he talked about he is incredibly valuable. You really need to consider your goals with a deck, how long does it take you to get to those goals, what cards slow you down (both your own and your opponents) and then molding your deck from there based on meta. Now I’m thinking give it all might be cool in a deck with Ruin Runner, probably still bad.
'Swim in guide': 9:55 " Poro Herder isn't really great, he's alright, might be even proper as a 1 of or 2 of.." 'Swim during climb': 15:33 "Poro Herder is Gaaarbage. He does Nooothing.."
So the story goes something like this. Riot - releases huge fix patch, everyone agrees balance to the game for the most part restored. Swim - day 0.5 here is a decks i expect to be good Swim - day 1 - having fun refining some concepts Swim day 2 - ok lets bring back infinite mill Swim day 3 - lets find a deck so busted it will be the next meta plague. Well here is hoping that last statement is not right i would love to see poros have a good spot in the overal meta but not to be a plague that needs nerfing. you can however tell swim's creative juices have been stired since this new set with balance patch has been released.
The deck doesnt feel oppressive, its also midrange which makes it less toxic to the environment than a aggro deck that outpaces everything or a combo deck that combos off before all the others. There are a bunch of good tech cards against it too like quicksand or silence and the deck really struggles to interact with the opponents gameplan.
Thanks for addressing the concerns it appears swim get a really good run with those games and his skill level, but it was a bit scary seeing it outwall thralls as a deck. Glad to hear it is more balanced from people who have seen it in action a bit more. I know swim said it was not likely teir 1 and maybe not teir 2 at the begining of the vid but i then did not expect to see several games where he won where the opponent could seem to do nothing against a wall of poros
Just now went against it for the first time, dude had no way of getting rid of my Ember maiden that just kept buffing all my things since I use scargrounds, that being said his porobot with 3/4 stats and regen was scary on turn 3
"Cheesy-ass deck" Meanwhile this deck: >casually blocks 18 units, still full-board >Deals lethal by showering the enemy in Daring Poros on steroids twice
also spellshield is useless except on the heart of the fluft, and even then you trade elusive for spellshield, which basically negates all of its value as a game ender
I like this deck, pretty straight forward. I can see why Braum doesn't fit in, but in my opinion he's an amazing champion in control decks if you know how to utilize him properly.
oh come on. im just kidding. few days ago before the last expansion - this deck could be so. Imagine playing seriously with a poro deck. Nobody could. But it's truly grapplr style - playing and winning with unplayable decks (mb playable but nobody plays these decks)
Swim u are my master, i literally hit top 1# master this season for your tips and tricks and ways of think, thanks im TRUE TITAN in the game by the way
Ok you should not have mentionned deep, because i'm a fuckin' otp deep player and i was searching for a new deck to play since stalking shadows got nerf, thanks for the deck ma dude
You ran Stalking Shadows in Deep? I mean I guess it gave value pre-nerf, but personally I always just preferred developing my sea monster or treasure gameplan, Stalking Shadows feels like a waste of mana making the deck slower than it already can be. Talking pre-nerf of course, after nerf you can literally just remove it and the deck will barely change.
@@KirbySaysBweo it was really helpful to get multiple dreg dredgers and make insane combo with sea scarab, while allowing to deny some entire attack turn from the ennemy thanks to the ephemeral bodyAlthough in late game, being able to duplicate the 7|7 obliterate and the elusive one add you a really strong win condition. But yea, now it's way too slow
@@JohnSmith-gk8vd That's true, you make a good point. Stalking Shadows did have some good uses like you described, but from experience I can say Deep really doesn't need it to be a good deck.
You can only take up to 3 copies of the same card, you take three copies of the most important cards for your deck (Cards that make up the entire strategy, in this case, poros, and also power cards from the region, like Troll chant, one of the best spells in fleljord), two copies of situational cards that let you adapt to the meta (icevale archer's freeze is good against Lurk, tavern keeper's heal is good against aggro, some of the most popular decks right now) and only one copy of cards that MIGHT be useful in some games but you never want to use more than once per game (in this case, battlefury can enable you to have a surprise lethal sometimes, but you will never need more than one copy). I hope this helps.
So generally in deckbuilding you run 3(or however many a game allows) of all your good cards. Why? Because you want to draw them. Some cards are really bad in multiples so you run only 1 so at most you will draw 1, this however also means that you won't consistently draw that card. 2 offs are a bit more odd because its almost never correct. You hardly ever draw all 3 of a card to the point where it ruins a hand. Swim tends to make a lot of unrefined decks with odd ratios, its likely just based on what feels right to him and he probably give a precise justification for most 2 off or 1 off inclusions over just running 3 or 0 of said card.
Isnt heart of the puff actualy bad? combining all your poros makes it easier for them to deal with plus its 6 mana, ofcourse if they tap out of mana, you can combine your stunned poros and still attack but its VERY situational. Perhaps run only one but I will see if I can find better options.
@@Faegersten Yes... he even acknowledged that himself, but its even worse since will is 4 mana now, so many stuns, freeze and vengeance, almost all regons have a good way to handle it. Why have 2 expensive cards that are very and I mean very situational.
It can get spellshield from the ornn poro if it hits a large enough board once or twice but usually playing fluft is a downgrade and opens you up to bs against most decks.
Its cheap so probably go for it. Low elo you generally want to play aggro or fast midrange since the opponents aren't great and you want to save time. Swap to a proper deck around diamond or whenever you get bored. If you are short on resources and this would cost you then just stick with other decks till there is more experimentation of this.
@@plasticturnipboy5642 Wouldnt craft lurk personally if I were short on resources since its a lot of bad cards that only become decent when used together.
To be honest Poro herder just get hit by power creep. Seriously if they just changed him "when im summon draw a poro from your deck. If you have ally poro on board, summon poro instead" If it will too op just make him 2/2
Compare Von Yipp to Poro Snacks. It gives an additional +1|+1 is its upside. Its downside is it takes up board space. It's killable. You can't play it on reaction. It doesn't work on Fabled Poro or Mighty Poro, or Heart of the Fluft. Von Yipp is basically terrible.
