President of Mexico Francisco Madero flew aboard one of these in 1910, making him the first head of state to fly. Incredible to watch an actual aeroplane still flying. Amaizing.
What a time to be a live, imagine if you were born in 1890 and at 13 you read about the first aircraft, and then at 40 your seeing passenger planes carry 12 passengers at 120 miles per hour, and then at 60 your seeing 30 ton behemoths carrying 60 passengers at 240 miles per hour, and then at 79 you're seeing humans walking on the moon, and then at 90, you're laying on your death bed, and you're seeing handheld cell phones where people can hold something in their hand with no attachment to a wall, and speak to someone 5,000 miles away...what a life
Two restored examples - one in the United Kingdom and one in the United States - of original Blériot XI aircraft are thought to be the two oldest flyable aircraft in the world with the Uk aircraft being the oldest with the oldest aero engine still flying.
It strikes me as one of,if not the first, airplane in a modern tractor engine layout (monoplane with tail rudder/elevators). The only difference with modern aircraft was the use of wing warping rather than ailerons for roll control.
Wahnsinn.
In 1909 everybody was using the Wright type propellor (long wooden propeller with increasing pitch near the carrier) and flying all over the place. Before they saw Wilbur's prop in 1908 they were using snow shovels attached to broomsticks
Daumen hoch! :-)
Sry, Antwort erst jetzt gefunden. Braucht man viel Gefühl dafür.
Beautiful vintage piece of machinery. Some questions, how or does it bank turns? I see no ailerons. As such, does it warp its wings like the original Wright Flyer, or? Couldn't really tell. Also can it maneuver itself on the ground or is a ground crew always required? Thanks for posting.
I want to fly it, is this a replica or an original? I would love to fly and original WWI or Edwardian early 1900's plane! I also would love to go it an old WWI submarine too!
It is neat to see it fly, but when it is the only survivor, there is always the risk that it suffers the same fate as the Northrop N9M. The N9M was the only existing example of a flying wing from Jack Northrop's lifetime and should have never been flown. It was too unstable of an aircraft. The crash proved fatal for the pilot and the world lost a piece of history. Ideally, a replica should have been made with a computerized system like the B-2 has.
It's good to see that it's actually flown and not just hopped up and down quickly.
That pup is over 110 years old....
Dear Lord on High....
She needs to be treated like
*royalty!*
This is older than titanic titanic have 107/108 years
I saw one of these flying over a cotton field in Louisiana about 20 years ago! It flew just over my head and was a sight to behold!

1909. This airplane first flew around the time that shipyard workers in Belfast were laying the keel blocks to build the Titanic.
That's a good comparison.

Still as fascinating now in 2020 as she probably was back in 1909.
Absolutely! Thank´s for watching!
Not quite it would have been a new thing to most people!
only 6 year after the wright brothers made their historical flight.
Less than a decade before we were flying planes in war.
Sorry, the first documented flight was 1906, in Paris, with hundreds of witnesses. Pilot was Santos Dumont.
@@warjacareThe first manned flight with a plane was done by the wright brothers. 1903 and lasted 59 seconds.
@@warjacare Yea you are right. Best wishes.

Mikael Carlson from Sweden owns two original Blériot XI / Thulin, which he found und restored by himself
This plane is an airborne piece of art. It resembles a dragonfly in flight with its grace and elegance.
Suddenly, my 25 year old automobile with over 423,000 miles on the odometer, seems like a strapping young piece of machinery.
I think this is the most beautiful aeroplane to grace the skies.

Great video Thanks.
Great airplane plus great camera and camera work equals great video. Thanks for posting.
Thank you!
Loud and slow! I like the sound of engines roaring.
Planes can still fly pretty good no matter their age as long as they are kept in good condition and shape.
It is just a prototype of 1909 not the same flight
Gruss DrDuu
Geht bestimmt auch als Segelflieger:-)
Das ist richtiges Fliegen. Wow, super Aufnahme dieses Oldtimers.
Vielen Dank!
Just gorgeous !
Una maravilla.
Old plane's engine sound are pure asmr
-change my mind
Thanks for watching.

Even if they looked at the Wright Brothers 1906 patent they wouldn't have seen it, there is no propellor in the patent
@@hyzercreek That is correct, they patented the control system, not the propulsion system. But they still had an impressively efficient propeller!
Looks like it can outfly a sr71 blackbird

Gruss DiFoo
Vielen Dank fürs Anschauen!
That seems so scary and fun at the same time
Wow it Flys alot better then I'd expect I'm soprised more people don't replicat it with a modern engin
This plane probably outlived the creators and the creators kids

Un avión en (1909) esto es increible
I know the wings and control surfaces need recovering periodically, but does the wood lose its structural capacity over time?

Wing warping. See the "umbrella" stays going out to the wings ??
Saw one in a museum and did not see any control surfaces for roll? Makes me wonder how it works?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍
Look, mom! No flaps!
Wird in Fliegerkreisen Fliegendes Bettgestell genannt. 😉
Is it a replica or was it actually made in 1909?
Viva Jorge Chavez Dartnell !! Arriba siempre arriba!
I'm sorry, but if I had the chance, I'd want to learn how to fly this thing!

El avión de 1909 esta en (2022)
I want one
Well...make a replica
@just me xd stfu
Quote from someone in 1909
Does the anouncer ever shut up so you can hear the airplane?
These plane's are now faster and safer and now they are known as private jets.👀
where airleron? how does he turns?
I think it uses wing warping
this looks like it wouldnt hurt if you crashed it
The oldest plane is the Wright Flyer
Yes, i know. But this airplane is the oldest that flies now, as it is in the title.
I wouldn't rode in that for money !
Still it's look new invented plane ✈️
