Great video. The Schemer is my least favorite. This often manifests as the Risk-Averse Adventurer, a heroic character who can never allow himself to be put in danger or a situation in which they don't have 5 foolproof escape routes.
TTRPGs are not good to play as competition games. I tell schemer players that competing against me is futile because I have unlimited resources, so it's not a situation that we should get into as a group.

No, you don't have unlimited resources... you have *UNLIMITED POWER*

Dude, just wanted to say these videos are still being seen and are SUPER useful! Really appreciate all of them!
If your ever considered doing another video or two, I'd love to see anything just talking about general tips and such running a smooth and interesting game. I'd also be curious if you ever got into Foundry? The SWrpg support is really good

My worst case contrarian was a player that went against what the party wanted to do, talked the players into his Avenue of progress, then acted contrary to the idea that he originally suggested.
There was never any pleasing this player.

Just found your channel, I'm not exaclty a dm, but I always love helping the dm with ideas and such, and something I ALWAYS get so tired of, are murder hobo players who are almost always rogues or characters like that. I once had 2 different times, two different groups, that the chaotic evil rogue, always would "roleplay" (and very badly mind you), that once the party is asleep, they would rob the party and or try to kill the other players.

I played in a group that literally designated a leader at behest of the GM. It sucked badly. The leader and the GM kept wondering why we weren't role playing, too. SMH

Some good content. I unfortunately had to give some consequences (Inquisitors) to some murder hobo jedi in my group. Im hoping next session will be much more relaxed.

I’m struggling with the Know-It-All. So I’m super comfortable with all the SWRPG mechanics and I spend a lot of time creating my character concepts into full fledged character sheets, so I know all the species/items/weapons. Basically as a player I find myself correcting newer players and gms, but not in the sense of oh that’s not cannon, or that’s the wrong name, more just like oh short range with ranged heavy? That’s actually an average check rather than easy, I think you got it mixed up with ranged light at that range. If someone tells me I’m wrong after correcting them in this way I usually just leave it at that to conserve time and look it up after session. Am I doing it wrong? Is this annoying?

Depends on the frequency but with the right group it wouldn’t be a problem; if you feel that the group might get annoyed by it (if it was me) I would talk to them and engage my question head on .... but that’s just me ^^

I feel that it's best to not say anything in the moment and save it for after the session when most groups will have a quick after action review. There is a cumulative effect on the gm of having to deal with players who are trying to correct, no matter how well Intentioned.
The GM has to be the world simulator so they are responsible for the physics of the game world and the rules are a guide for the executive called the gm.
Having said that, I personally b er lieve that a good player knows the rules and plays the game with mastery, so to me you are a valuable player but you may want to wait to be asked for your expertise. Also if it's a critical ( life or death) situation that isnt being handled correctly by the rules you could just bring it up that you suspect it's not being handled per RaW. If the gm overrides then I would say that's enough of a reason to just bear up and accept that you arent the gm and have other responsibilities.

Hmm stuttering I have that problem. But I have a stammering&stuttering issue since I was a boy. But it’s not bad. I’ve mastered how to talk better.
