The statement he made is in proper context , and it makes a lot of sense. Everybody knows that no matter how successful you are , if you're not connected for some reason people will collapse your business. Bribe ,corruption and political witch hunting. Take Paa Kwesi Ndum, UT bank, and all those successful businesses that we managed to collapse. The other way we can destroy good initiatives in the country is by killer taxes . How do you survive in a country like Ghana in this peesent condition. Do not criticize him if the current system is favoring you.

people don't understand that not everyone leaving is fully because of money. The processes in ghana don't favor you if you don't have connections(corruption). The lifestyle in ghana is all about corruption all day and makes it hard to progress as an ordinary youth. So i definitely understand why he'll reject that money.

Advising the guy that it's not easy in US and he should focus and keep his eyes on the price is an advise well given.
Yes, the system here in US is better than Ghana but definitely not as we perceived it to be when we were back home.

This young man seems to be ambitious and blessed because he went to America to go to university on scholarship [including obtaining stipend from the school, et al, and going to food pantry to collect free food] so not the same experience compared to those Ghanaians who came to America to work but without papers or go to university paying full tuition.
I would like to state that while credit cards are easy to obtain in the USA, the interest rates are normally very high so it is best to pay off as much as you can rather making the minimum payment every month which will take years to pay back which is not financially savvy. Obtaining credit cards can also be addictive to some people so food for thought for the youth. Always buy what you can afford rather than being lured into the ease of obtaining credit cards to purchase things which can destroy one's credit if you fail to make payments on the loan [which is what it is] on time.
I wish this young man the very best!

This guy is crazy, a house and car with 50,000 Ghana 🇬🇭 cedis a year in Ghana equals living like a king 🤴🏿 sir. Take it from a African American who earns 85k to 90k a year. I’d rather live that life in Ghana 🇬🇭 with a house and car that I own than to make 100k in the United States with a mortgage 💸 and car note sir. Bills in Ghana even as a family meaning man, woman and child shouldn’t exceed 2500 cedis per month so you can save 1500 cedis per month but you own everything. Why would anyone in their right mind give that up to become a debt slave in America is beyond me 🤦🏿‍♂️.

He got the credit card because he is a legal student in the United States that will be making certain amount on monthly or weekly or biweekly bases. That is a lot of money in the credit. What he saying is for people that come to graduate students. He is being paid because he is getting Graduate Assistant such as Teaching Assistant or Graduate Assistant or Research Assistant. What he is saying is true. He is funny. What city or town does he leaving in? America is hard if he is not a student or doesn't have scholarship, or graduate student. Efie ni fie. Nice interview but am sorry this guy is a bit shallow, the akwesi made their country well by themselves, we are responsible for making our country well by ourselves. Am sure he'spaying direct taxes in US, how many pay tax in Ghana..You should rather think of going home to improve the process/system..hmm wait until you start experiencing racism,... you will think twice 😊.

He is not shallow. He is telling the truth. Our leaders think only about their pockets. How to enrich themselves, to enjoy with their family and girl friends. I'm living over here in America, Yes we pay taxes and we befits from the taxes we pay. Our leaders is our problems

Who in Ghana don't pay tax? You're rather a bit shallow so do you search well before you talk about Ghanaians not paying taxes.
