This is no kind of test whatsoever. It just tells you what to buy with no clue as to power consumption or even how good they are at doing the job. I bought a couple of these and they really are crap. They consume more power than the lighter socket can supply causing the adapter to overheat and melt. Remember 500 watts at 12vdc is around 50 amps. I cut off the lighter plugs and connected the cord direct to the battery and they didn't even warm the car enough to stop breath condensing, although the cords do get hot enough to warm your hands, but I wouldn't recommend leaving the things unattended. I'm of the opinion that none of them are capable of doing the job so haven't wasted money on another one. If someone has found a good one, please let me know because I would still want one.
I Agree. It took me three attempts to find one that did what I needed it to do: melt the windscreen ice and be trustworthy.
I can't afford a car that allows timed heaters on an unswitched fuse (dangerous concept really).
I wanted the heater to melt the ice/warm the car (a little} BEFORE I got in it to go to work at 6:30, and I didn't want to help drain the car's battery, Thus, I used an old motorbike battery, wiring to an {Amazon} timer and then on to the heater (placed on a 'floating-shaped-wooden-shelf' sitting between the front seat headrests: lessening fire risk).
This switches on at 6:22 and off at 6:31.
I added a cigarette lighter plug which I insert for occasional charging.
This works for me (the same set-up has lived in my (much-missed) SAAB 9000, Chevrolet Lacetti and current Peugeot 407 estate).
To all the H&S/panic-stricken/insurance-voiding shouters/nay-sayers: it's my life and my car. If it caught fire, people would stay clear. It didn't go in the car for two weeks as I was testing it in a wooden box in the garden. I had it timed to On/Off six times a day including two sessions at an hour a time. Quality differs from country to country, so I bought British).
Like the name of the heater you said heats up small spaces for car
1:57 can u plz tell me if this one will heat the car a little plz? thank you.
@@effects5855 cut the cigarette plug off and replace with crocodile clips an attatch to your car battery then they work brilliantly 👍
Using an indoor space heater as a car heater is asking for trouble, gets cold enough the insulation will get hard and snap
I like it so much, is very efficient
That ferryone catches on fire.
thx for sharing
Don't windows crack?
Yes, so having one blasting your wind shield directly is a retarded idea. I just put a 1200W space heater on the back seats to slowly and safely heat the whole car up, using an extension cord to the house of course.
no its fine with air its the water that makes it crack
Just show it in the winter
I just wasted time watching this video
I wants for my car please send contact
Is it safe to have it on for 6 continuous hours in truck while sleeping
