EvergreenAcupuncture at this point in time I used a catalyzed finish on the fretboard, i.e. Cyannoacrilate it works great in a pinch done properly. UV finishing products are now more available and it's no secret what any of the guitar mfg co's are using being that I now use the same suppliers.
kaspforeva that is actually a piece of rosewood that I use to seat the fret. Doing it this way helps to seat the fret better. Sometimes if you just hit the fret with the hammer, the fret can curl up on the ends. But again it just depends. Each fret job is a different animal.
Very interesting video!
hahahah love the foley work. "you need to share" always such a popular injunction :)
I figured the sound was so bad that i would just add it later LoL ;-)
great job!! What kind of finish did you use?
What did you use for clear coat? I know Ric has their special UV Poly goo, but it's proprietary.

Thanks. I actually used that on a fretless I did.
Did you have to do a lot to clean out the fret slots after applying the CA?
what was your method for leveling the frets? under any tension? or just with some support?
Hi Joe, on this one I was able to support the neck and use the truss rod to get the neck straight while I did the fret level.
thanks!
I wonder why you used that bit of metal when you hammered in the frets instead of just using the hammer?
