- Kristen Stewart On Set Interview The Runaways -- For more movie news, trailers, and interviews go to www.collider.com -- When a movie is filming, the studio will conduct interviews with the actors for what's called an EPK (electronic press kit). This is released to the press when the movie is getting ready to be released as a way to help promote the film. With The Runaways about to get released, Apparation has provided us with an on set interview with Kristen Stewart. She talks about playing Joan Jett and the making of the film.
Here's the official synopsis:
THE RUNAWAYS is a music-fueled, coming of age story of the groundbreaking, all girl 1970s rock band. Los Angeles 1975, Joan Jett (KRISTEN STEWART) and Cherie Currie (DAKOTA FANNING), two teenage valley girls with punk in their blood, meet and become the heart and soul of the seminal all girl band, The Runaways. Floria Sigismondi brings THE RUNAWAYS to the big screen in this story of a group of extraordinary young women as they rise from rebellious Southern California kids to rock stars of the now legendary band that paved the way for future generations of girl musicians. Under the Svengali-like influence of rock impresario Kim Fowley (MICHAEL SHANNON), the group evolves into an outrageous success and a family of misfits. With its tough-chick image and raw talent, the band quickly earns a name for itself-and so do its two leads: Joan is the bands pure rock n roll heart, while Cherie, with her Bowie-Bardot looks, is the sex kitten.

She really is a good actress. She just gets really nervous once she's on camera as herself and people really jump on her ass about it.
I am a hardcore Joan Jett and Runaways fan, trust me, if I thought she did an even remotely bad job here, I'd be losing my shit! I hate when movies cast horrible actors or actors that are clearly not fit to portray another person. Kristen did phenomenal! And I'm a straight, happily married woman, but daaaaamn Kristen was pretty hot as Joan Jett!
She gets so much crap because of the Twilight movies, which personally I don't mind, but she has done so many good movies! The Runaways, Adventureland, Panic Room, American Ultra....
Well Twilight was hugely popular so I think some people must have liked it. First time I think I saw her was in Into the Wild and of she did Snow White and the Huntsman too I don't think she's awful I liked The Runaways but I like most Rock n Roll movies.
@@AnnaLVajda first time I saw her was in Panic Room. I don't think I've seen Into The Wild, but I thought she did really good in Adventureland, probably my favorite role of hers.
Ngl I was one of those people who was into Twilight lol I saw the 2nd and 3rd movies in the theater and I do like a lot of the actors from other work they had done, like for example Elisabeth Reaser who played Esme Cullen, has a very good performance in a multi episode guest starring role on Grey's Anatomy and I remember the actor who played Carlisle, Peter Faccinelli, from a pretty much long forgotten show called Fastlane. Robert Pattinson has become a very impressive actor since playing Edward, but I think I will always remember him as Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
You Could Tell Kristen Was serious about this role-she Blow me away with her performance-and showed me she could seriously act and move away from the twilight saga-she nailed Joan-and i felt the raw emotion-Phenomenal Performance!
I wish Kristen Stewart did more music... shes amazing... Joan Jetts amazing still making albums and touring

She makes such a good Joan!
She was never my favorite actor. But her personality enthralls me. I know most people think, "what personality, she doesn't have one." But she reminds me a lot of myself. I can see she has anxiety and maybe even split personality. She was really great for this role. And I am a hardcore Joan Jett fan, trust me. She was meant for this role. I don't like her in many movies, but she makes a good rough rocker chick. She adapted and became Joan Jett. She continued dressing like her and acting like her even a year after the movie. I think she really enjoyed this role. The others , she doesn't seem to enjoy the movies she has done before.
She was fucking awesome in the Runaways.

This is a good interview for Kristen because she's actually getting her words out. She has the look down. I wasn't thrilled with the casting but now I actually want to see it especially after seeing the trailer.

I love Kristen Stewart but sorry all my attention was on that beautiful possibly Gibson guitar in the back. I want it. Okay, I'm gonna watch this again and pay attention to her this time.
I cant stand the twilight franchise and had my doubts about this movie but I watched her in it and just went...."Whoa...Kristen, kiss me!"
She oozes raw sex in this movie and I couldnt help but love every inch of her as Joan. Kristen should explore more roles like this and get out of that twilight machine before the awful "Breaking dawn" gets made. Bella is a horrendous character.
