I listened to this again today while transitioning from a nights sleep to up and at’em. What a great way to start the day. Plenty to consider through the day and internalize. Every time I here a talk by Bhante Sucitto I find more in it than the time before. Even now though, I know there is more here than i perceived even a second time around. But nonetheless It’s good to learn a bit more about how life works. How these feelings work. How one thing is connected to the next. One day perhaps it will reach critical mass and my mind, or heart, or “heart mind” will explode with a flash of brilliant understanding and release of all this pent up energy and illuminate that which is aware that there is more to the world than meets the eye. And out of that will walk an awakened entity overflowing with compassion, Metta, and peace to be shared with all who have a wholesome desire to “get it”. I often feel just in the verge of such an event and that fuels a constant striving to let go of the world and accept the greater things that are beyond space time and all notions that mankind has proliferated and return to the pure state of the unborn, the unconditioned and know release from all suffering and disillusionment. There is a great sense of gratitude for those who have given their lives over to this effort as Nuns and Monks to point the way to us who remain in the world. One day I’d like to join their ranks for a retreat or the rest of this lifetime. In the meantime, thank you for posting this talk. And thank you Bhante for you lovingkindness demonstrated.by giving this talk. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!
Yes: beautiful, and simple. There's what you say - AND your voice, both bringing the peace I need this morning, that I hope I will be able to hold onto for a little while, when I go among people. Maybe this is the best thing about the internet - talks like this, from people like this. Thank you....
Big fan of Ajahn Sucitto. Very smart. Ajahn Sucitto is Theravada so in context. Mahayana monks/nuns have the Bodhisattva vow..... The jesus model is similar to the bodhisattva vows albeit more dramatically martyr-like. Thanks for post. Sadhu sadhu sadhu 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Can’t tell which is more martyr-like. Jesus died once. Bodhisattva’s choose to die many times. Actually kind of fruitless -- kind and compassionate but fruitless as personally don’t think suffering will ever end for all living beings. Something must die for something else to live. But compassion and wanting to help is never a wasted effort. 🙏🏼
