I’m not sure if this will help, but I’ve seen on other videos before that all 20 villagers have to have a profession. None of them can be nitwits (the ones with green clothes). Sometimes if there is a nitwit, then it might prevent iron golems from spawning.
You have to build this 100-150 blocks in the sky from the surface for better results. Building it this high allows the rendering to be strictly controlled to the spawner making spawns happen faster.
Man you're a goat, I spent so much time building an iron farm before but it didn't work I tried outl this one and while still building it I got like 20 something ingots or something like that, works really good and is a great farm in the beginning of your Minecraft world. As a way ti express my thanks to you, I subscribed.
I did everything the comments say if golems aren’t spawning and nothing has changed, there’s no caves no villages no breeders, I have no idea what’s going on
Make sure you don't have nit wits ( the green coat villager) if that doesn't work your villagers either aren't working at their blocks or not sleeping which is required another issue if your on bedrock the villagers will not spawn golem at night at least from what I've seen from afking another issue is the golems can spawn anywhere in a 18 block radius from your village center (the first bed you place)that's a cube BTW not a circle I've seen some people say they won't spawn above the village anymore but this video proves that wrong the best way to build this is 20 blocks above a ocean floor can't be a river and at least 100 blocks away from any bed including your players bed it will break the farm
Might be spawning in walls or above or around the farm then walk off as they spawn a certain amount and if there alive not spawning more. Or so iv found has happened on my world
@@davidsnotsteezy7760 so when I put this in my realm. Oftentimes my rates were slow or stopped working. I found out golems were spawning in hidden underwater caves 😭 I only saw them bc the chunks didn’t load correctly. Honestly, I had to check all around in the block radius for caves. I’m not sure other than that.
THANK YOU!!! IT WORKS IN BEDROCK 1/8/25 about 2.5 stacks an hour. Slabs around the corner on top by the door kept... burning? Idk but I added 2 layers of dirt and 👌. Made some windows on one side so I could see my villagers, used a shovel to make a dirt path in a 7 block radius. Didn't do anything with cats, but really haven't had many. MAY WANT TO CONSIDER MORE TORCHES I keep getting tons of mob spawns everywhere.
To anyone struggling try changing your villager work station, I had composters and they didn’t work at all switched to fletching table and got iron golems spawning within 6 being placed.
Question: I'm not completely sure how the spawning of the iron golems functions, but do you have to be afk there for this to work, or can you leave and do other things while you wait? How close to the farm do you have to be for it to keep producing iron?
If your farm stops working!!! ⬇️ You need to let your villagers sleep. Stay close to it at night, it should then work again. If you leave the area at day, then be away for quite some time, then return during a day, the villagers didnt sleep for a very long time and then, they will not spawn anything.
Really good farm and the first one I’ve used that works however I had to cover some of the surrounding land with leaves to stop the iron golems spawning there
Nerd here, trying to understand the mechanics involved. It seems like a widely accept guideline (in this video and many other places) is that the Iron Farm needs to be 150 blocks away from other villages, iron farms, etc.). There is even several commenters on this video saying that they had problems, b/c they accidentally broke the 150 block rule. A little research indicates that the reason for the 150 rule is: "to ensure that iron golems spawn within the farm itself, rather than randomly in the nearby village area". However, I thought the mechanic was that it would look for a suitable location to spawn the Golem within a 16x6x16 area around the Village Center (which is the bottom, northwest corner of the pillow of the first bed claimed by a villager). So it seems like the Golem can only spawn in at 17x13x17 area around the first bed's pillow. This seems like a huge difference 17x13x17 vs 150 blocks. Thanks in advance to anyone taking the time to answer my question. Two additional questions, is the 150 measurement taxi-cab distance or Euclidean? And finally is the measurement from Village Center to Village Center or the two closest points of the "villages"? Thanks Again!
I was having a similar issue on occasion. I put an extra row of leaves around and it seems to have helped. Just spawn proof the area with moss carpet too
This works perfect in mcpe! Golems spawned as i filled in the blocks above villagers, even before i put the water in place. For those whose don't work, i will recommend following instructions. 1. Find somewhere not so high and flat. 1-1. If u r using cheats or just testing in creative, use ex) /locate biome plains command to find one. 2. Dig under until y reaches minus and check for caves. 3. Check any close villages, if you find one, destroy all the doors and work blocks to disable it as a village, and also transport the villagers to ur farm or kill em. 3-1. Use /locate structure minecraft:village This time and check if it's far more than 150 blocks away if u don't want to destroy the village. 4. Do as wht the vid says and it'll work.
It took a while to gather all the resources and build one and the farm itself is rather a bit slow, but it works like a charm! Plus it is also a semi string farm since the campfire kills the cats too! Thanks for this! 🙏
Excelent farm, a few tips - I made the villagers Fishermen as I use barrels for the work stations,. as I use barrels for storage it doesen't matter which barrel the vikkage attaches to. also add 3 Hoppers as all the items where not picking up... Davi
Interesting. I recall visiting a friend's iron farm a few months ago and it had both golems and cats spawning. The cats ofc died and gave nothing and the iron golems were making tons of iron. But he had a ton of villagers of every different trade in a square perimeter. Then minecart with a zombie inside moving around over and over on a rail road. And presumably the zombie scares the villages (who are trapped in place , I think between trapdoors?), and the iron golem spawns
if anyone can please help, iron golems were spawning but now they're not. I have 20 villagers (they're all farmers I used composters, they are sitting inside of the composters so not walking around but I thought it would be fine because it was spawning before) I put a bell 5 blocks above because thats what another commenter said, pretty sure theres no cave, because it was working. I built it on a gravel & stone area so no need to path. I did leave for the day and came back but I let the entire night go on so they could rest and I've been sleeping near. I really don't understand why it just stopped working
Can someone explain why it stopped working? And I noticed that it started working again only when there were more villager on the outside that I was using for trades, but I checked and on the inside of the farm there are 20 villagers
You need to let your villagers sleep. Stay close to it at night, it should then work again. If you leave the area at day, then be away for quite some time, then return during a day, the villagers didnt sleep for a very long time and then, they will not spawn anything.

if golems spawn outside dirt your paths all the way around because golems can’t spawn on those blocks so just make a large surrounding outline of dirt path
this worked perfectly, and got five stacks of iron from it. all of a sudden, it just stopped working. no golems are spawning anymore. i checked nearby caves, and some of them had spawned there, so i killed them, and filled those caves up. they're still not spawning anywhere. i'm at a loss as it seems i've tried everything. rearranged the beds, put up a bell, checked and spawn-proofed nearby caves, brought zombies over; nothing seems to be working. anyone have any recommendations?
@@beachdog2520so it could be that one of the villagers didn’t take a profession and it’s a nitwit (green clothes). I’ve seen before where you have to have 20 villagers with jobs in order for golems to spawn. If any of them are in green clothes, the golems might not spawn.

a few tips: tame cats around the farm and they wont spawn. add fences around your farm to prevent mobs from interfering, you dont have to add campfires and it works just aswell just be sure the golems can be pushed into the correct level to die in the lava make sure the blocks in your collection hole are non spawnable aswell, my farm wasnt working but i replaced the bottom of my floor to the collection chamber with leaves and they stopped spawning down there.
@@lucaleins6005 same y level as the villagers, with one block in front of the zombie so it cannot reach the villagers but make sure the villagers can see the top half of the zombie. it works fine without it though, and I'm not entirely sure if this changes golem spawn rates on bedrock
@@OverAverage14 would actually be more beneficial if you built it in the air since there are less rendered spawn blocks besides the blocks connected to the farm so it would spawn faster However the answer to your question is yes, as long as there are no caves nearby and you have to dig out a 10x10 radius (use light sources to prevent mob spawn) at least y coord 20 or so would be recommended
10/10. Took a little over 30 minutes to build (minus the time getting the villagers and materials), and I had to kill more iron golems because of how effective the farm was (had to kill around 4 iron golems during the time I was building it).

IMPORTANT-1.21.3-Bedrock
For it to work on 1.21.3, you need to remove the middle block with the touch and the block filled in between the beds.
What do you replace the block with torch with or with nothing
how do you light up the farm also thanks in advance

Does this really work? I tried and I still don’t see a change
HOLY MOLY I MESSED UP LIKE 6 TIMES BUILDING THIS FARM BUT I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING, THX A BUNCH!!
Also I believe that at least 8 villagers have to have worked in order to spawn a golem the minimum amount of villagers is 10 the optimal amount is 30
@@juggernaut6498 this helped a lot thank you for the quick response, I most likely will try building a lot farther away than what I have right now

no golems spawning, no caves around, cats are spawning what did i do wrong
Might be spawning in walls or above or around the farm then walk off as they spawn a certain amount and if there alive not spawning more. Or so iv found has happened on my world
Place down pathblocks 10 blocks far from your farm in all directions that might fix the problem if iron golems not spawning inside the farm
Also double check all your villagers have a job and aren’t nitwits (green clothes)
Hey did you figure out what was wrong cs I’m having the same problem?
@@davidsnotsteezy7760 so when I put this in my realm. Oftentimes my rates were slow or stopped working. I found out golems were spawning in hidden underwater caves 😭 I only saw them bc the chunks didn’t load correctly. Honestly, I had to check all around in the block radius for caves. I’m not sure other than that.
How do the iron golems spawn without zombies threatening the villagers
Thank you so much! This is the first iron farm I’ve seen that actually works.❤ You’ve just gained a subscriber.

Mine works really well. It is even producing multiple golems at a time. Thanks!
To anyone struggling try changing your villager work station, I had composters and they didn’t work at all switched to fletching table and got iron golems spawning within 6 being placed.
great timing! i was gonna look for an iron farm to build.
Question: I'm not completely sure how the spawning of the iron golems functions, but do you have to be afk there for this to work, or can you leave and do other things while you wait? How close to the farm do you have to be for it to keep producing iron?
If your farm stops working!!! ⬇️
You need to let your villagers sleep.
Stay close to it at night, it should then work again.
If you leave the area at day, then be away for quite some time, then return during a day, the villagers didnt sleep for a very long time and then, they will not spawn anything.
How do they access the beds?
Thank you! This has help me a lot for my survival world.😊
Really good farm and the first one I’ve used that works however I had to cover some of the surrounding land with leaves to stop the iron golems spawning there
Same iv done 16 block out every direction to be safe
The iron golems aren't spawning for me. IDK if I did smt wrong but in the meantime I just wasted a lot of materials.
Place path blocks around the farm since they can't spawn on paths and will spawn in the farm

I was having a similar issue on occasion. I put an extra row of leaves around and it seems to have helped. Just spawn proof the area with moss carpet too

Just place some leaf blocks around the farm
This helped me so much, thank you!
3-1. Use /locate structure minecraft:village
This time and check if it's far more than 150 blocks away if u don't want to destroy the village.
4. Do as wht the vid says and it'll work.
It took a while to gather all the resources and build one and the farm itself is rather a bit slow, but it works like a charm! Plus it is also a semi string farm since the campfire kills the cats too! Thanks for this! 🙏

I made this and it stopped working… i had like two golems spawn in then it just stopped. Now I’m getting cats and that’s about it
Interesting.
