Claire, you do have a strong 💪 voice for General Practice Nursing 🤱; I’m so proud of you. I certainly have taken something away from your video. 100%. 🙂🦋✨
I want to work normal 9-5 hours, that’s why I looked into GPN! however in hospital based nurses can they still work the hours spread over more days instead of 12 hour shifts
I believe the qualification of nurse is different from doctor. In order to be a doctor, you have to study different things from nurse, be educated and graduate as a doctor, do residency as a doctor, etc. They are two different career paths, not something that you can be promoted from after working there for a while.
If you are a nurse and want to study medicine to become a doctor, a lot of UK universities recognise the nursing degree qualification and you can get a year off of the medical degree. You still go through all of the Medical placements in acute/primary care and then the additional training in a GP surgery before you can become a registered GP in the UK. It is something that I wished I had done a long time ago, I love nursing but a few years into my career I thought about medicine and becoming a GP, however, I have left it a bit late now. If you want to do it, go for it!!!!! I wish you the best of luck.
