I was waiting for this #2! Great job. This is one of my guilty pleasure movies, being 9 at the time it was a big impact on me. I love the soundtrack. It totally helps the movie along.
76 Kong will always hold a special place in my 10 yr old heart of the time. It fueled my young imagination and thrilled me with the magic of movies. Love this series!
Just wanted to say I'm enjoying your content, particularly this series on the 1976 King Kong movie (I'm looking forward to the next installment). Being a child of the 70s that movie has a lot of nostalgic value for me, I didn't get to see it in theaters but I remember it's network TV debut way back when. Anyway, keep up the good work!
I saw the film for the first time on my 14th birthday, Dec. 28, 1976 at the Robert E. Lee theatre here in New Orleans, where a giant wooden cut-out of Kong stood atop the roof. I spent the previous year clipping and collecting every article I could find concerning the production (and the legal battles) that culminated to the release on this very day, December 17th, 1976. Today marks the films 48th anniversary. After seeing the movie, I had some birthday money burning a hole in my wallet, so I went to a neighborhood record store (The Music Box) and purchased a poster featuring John Berkey’s artwork of Kong attacking the train, along with Elton John’s latest album BLUE MOVES.
I haven't been able to watch this yet but will later. Will you be talking about the movie poster image of King atop the World Trade Center in the daytime while holding something in one hand that looks like a train car or something? I've always been curious about it. This of course doesn't appear in the film. This image appeared on lunch boxes, posters, etc. I've always wondered what the history of it was. Were they originally planning to film the WTC sequence in the daytime?
The take away of this movie is that Rick Baker saved the day. A genius who's talent was wasted on so many mediocre films! Robot Kong didn't work. His quote after this was released was "I wish I had spent a year on Star Wars instead of King Kong."
I would be really interested in watching this as I was a big fan of this film when I was a kid, but the narrators voice is extremely irritating. Doesn’t sound real. AI?
I will try to get Part 3 up by Tuesday 24, Christmas Eve, but it may not be finished by then. Thank you for your interest and patience!

The music is decent, but in places - unsurprisingly - sounds like a BOND score. Still better than this sh*t movie deserves.
I was one of the unpaid 'extras' at the Trade center that night as a young lad. Boring night.
I have 2 cousins who were there, they had a blast! But movie sets can be very boring. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Great job. Well done!
Thank you!
Extremely interesting and well researched! Thank you! I was born in the mid 60s, so everything from the 70s is deeply nostalgic for me.

3:00 Didnt know that the Royal Norwegian Airforce Rescue Squadron 330 participated in making this movie :)
Man, finding copyright free footage is haaard! Amazing you were able to spot that.
@@that-70s-nerd Hehe, Just a nerdy observation from my side. Looking forward to part 3 :)

Jessica Lange was stunning.
Yes. I was only 7 when I had a crush on her in this movie.

Jessica Lange was my Queen back then. So sweet!!
🥰🥰🥰
Fantastic job on these. You have a new sub.
12:45 The World Trade Center was roughly 1/4 mile tall, not one mile. There is no mile high building in the world.
Making these things is murder, you will always make mistakes. There are many other errors in this and all other YT videos.
