    I've been looking into granulating paints such as Schmincke's. I ordered it twice and cancelled it twice on Amazon. I whimped-out because of the price. Then watching your video I got an idea. I mixed some of the dark brown and the purple and it gave me beautiful granulation. So did the dark brown and red. I gonna make my own granlating colors.

      I went through a similar ‘ordeal’ and landed on the 24 count set of Brusho’s. There is also a granulating medium available that I will probably get.

    Hello. You popped up on my videos, and I'm really enjoying what you're doing with the Brushos. I don't use mine anything like enough so to see different ways to play is great. I particularly like the prints you pulled with the white acrylic instead of water; to me they looked like a Monet misty morning, very soft and subtle, so I will be trying that out! I've used my powders with water but never dry with acrylics, it's never occurred to me to try.
    A fun thing to do with the Brushos is to use them with shaving foam, especially if you don't have a gelli plate - I would recommend wearing gloves with that, as it's quite messy.
    Back to the video...😄

      I’m really pleased I’ve inspired you to try something new. Brushos are so versatile. They appear in a few other videos I’ve done, although not always as the lead roll. I agree with you about the shaving foam. I love using it and trying lots of different mediums with it. 🙂

    You popped up in my recommended so clicked 😀. And subbed😀. I’ve had brushos for many years and don’t use them that often. Have you seen the Brusho Sprinkle it Powders? I bought my set of 6 from Lavinia, they give a lovely bit of sparkle and shine when mixed with the crystal colour. I must experiment more with my gelli press. The second print you did was just my cup of tea.
    I show the backgrounds I make on my very small channel. I’d love to make films like yours, but can’t film overhead yet. Would love if you visited me for a coffee. Sorry for the long post 🤣

      Hello
      Thank you for watching the video. I believe the card stock is 300gsm super smooth card. It’s great as it takes a lot of product from a wide range of mediums without disintegrating. Mine is from a UK company called Pink Pig.
      I hope that helps. 😊

      Hi. I’m not sure what I used in this video but my go to paper for the gel press tends to be 300gms super smooth from Pink Frog. Having said that, I will use anything that is within reach. Hope that helps. 😀

      Hi. I’m not sure what paper I used as the video was made a while ago, but my go to card stock is Pink Pig super smooth card. It’s great on the gel press and takes a good amount of mediums with no ill effect on the card. 😀

    Would this work on canvas

    • @angiebartist
      @angiebartist  Рік тому

      I find the gel plate doesn’t “give up” the paint as well onto canvas so you get a more aged look. A smoother surface works better. One option would be a wood panel that has been primed maybe. Hope that helps. 😊

  • @lilybay1

    Used the Brusho and it stained my gel press. I’m not able to clean it to clear . So sad because I had been able to keep the plate so pristine prior to the use of Brusho. The powders are pretty, however. I’ll search to see if others have had this problem…..

    • @angiebartist
      @angiebartist  2 місяці тому

      @@lilybay1 hi. I’m very much of the view my gel plates are a tool, so I’m not worried about any discolouration. I do find yellow in most mediums to be particularly staining. But that doesn’t impact the function. Happy printing. 😊

    mixed the paint into the brushes too much. Put the paint down first then the brushes. Paint is wet enough for them to react.

      @@paperandtwine have fun. I started with an A5 plate and now have about 6 different ones including the huge one. It’s highly addictive gel printing and a great way to spark crafty mojo. The smaller plates can be used to print a patchwork style pattern if you want a larger pattern. 🙂

    Can you get these effects using normal watercolour paints on the gel plate, or is this unique to the Brusho powders?
    I'm doing some research because I really want to get a gel plate, and I keep seeing that people use Brusho powders on them. The colours look beautiful, and some of the textures you made in this video are gorgeous, so I can see the powders work well.... Really interesting experiments you've done here, beautiful backgrounds for stamping on.
    So yeah, I'm just wondering if anyone knows:
    - can I use my normal watercolour paints to get these effects...?
    - and if not, what is it about the Brusho powders that makes them different to other water-based dyes?
    Any advice would be really appreciated 😊🎨🖌💕

    • @angiebartist
      @angiebartist  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you for your comment. I’ve never put watercolours directly on my gel plate. I really underuse them and will have to try them.
      The difference is that watercolours are one colour, formed by a combination of their component colours. Brushos are the individual colours in powder form so when you add water you see the component colours, rather than the solid colour. That’s why you get interesting effects. If you add enough water to the Brushos the component colours will combine to form a solid colour.
      I would suggest that a watercolours would work, but you won’t get the range of colours showing through. I hope that helps.
      My view with the gel plate is the best thing to do is try it. So far I’ve only found my oil pastels not to work on it. 😀
