she's from pennsylvania, originally. she got into country music at a young age and moved to nashville before signing with bmr. kids easily pick up accents and her accent was kinda required for her to breakthrough into the country industry. she definitely exaggerated it at first, but she was also just influenced and still has some country flecks in her. but her music and career no longer require her to act or sound a certain way. you can see how she transitioned out of the accent during fearless - speak now. but she's shown that she can bring it back, im sure we'll hear more of her country twang for debut tv.
tbf she was 17 and new to the industry. i think she did really well here even though her breath control isn't as good and she sounds and looks nervous. she's definitely improved and become more confident.
