I've been using these for 3-4 years now and have about 5 total across my yard. Even had my neighbor ask where I got them from and he ordered his last year and loves them. Another thing to get is the quick connect with the "air pump" attachment to push any water out of the cylinder to winterize. Trick: there's a small screw on top of the canister towards the sprayer to change the width and height of the water coming out; very handy for creating a mist and for slopes in the yard.
Ah so with these types will they water the patch directly Infront of the sprinkler? As it looks to arc over it, or do you need another facing that patch? Thanks
David Kearin It depends on the distance of the patch from the sprinkler. I think using the trick I mention to create a mist will give the seed and soil the moisture needed for any growth.
I have been thinking about getting an in ground sprinkler system for several years now and was a bit hesitant in doing so, but now I finally decided to make that move after watching this video just what I wanted - Thanks!
Run a garden hose under your fence below the first board. Go 50 feet and drop a head at each joint. That's what I did so I don't have to move sprinklers anymore. Put 3 on a zone and add a timer. Only trenching will be at the house to the fence. Use an edging shovel and make a slot. Easy to dig and it doesn't have to be deep. If the hose ever goes bad you can pull it up. The freezing doesn't damage the hose. That's how we do it at "Ratino's Small Engine & Landscaping." 🐀🐾
I just love when people throw out perfectly good stuff they could have easily given away at local thrift store or at least put out at the curb for others to see.
I did give my Gilmore stuff to my neighbor for his garden. That's all he waters. His yard is full of bare spots. I have the greenest lawn on the street by the way.
Just trench a line and install regular sprinkler heads. It is so easy to do. If you don't want to use solenoids wired to a control panel just send them to one quick connect with 4 or 5 on that line. You can have multiple heads and lines and just hook the hose to the main inlets around your yard. Wiring to a control panel via solenoids would also be easy for your yard because it is all open grass, so don't be scared to go the fully automatic route if you choose.
Would there be enough water pressure with that method? I like the idea of what you recommended but I'm curious if water pressure would become an issue?
I have six on a line where my underground irrigation doesn't reach. I use rainbird half circle rotary. If you go with a larger head like the 3000 then 4 on a line would work.
I have these! I just wanted to see your video bc when I bought these 2 years ago, I could find any video reviews. They work great, go out, connect and done.
I love them! I realize messing with setting up a sprinkler every time you move it isn't that big of a deal, however, these like you stated are quick and easy and already setup once in the ground. Plus it'll help insure proper and consistent water coverage.
FYI. Another reason people do not water lawn is because we live in Utah which we frequently forget is a desert. Love your ❤beautiful lawn. Thanks for sprinkling info.

Never seen these before and first time to see your video. I will look into it. I already use above ground but have spike heads and they stay put. Just run the hose long the house/fence and in one spot I buried it. I might try putting these in "permanently" and just run hose to each pair like I do not with above ground units. I will check out more of your videos. Thanks!
My neighbor just installed a Rain Bird 32ETI system. Just saw it in action today and it works great for the two heads he has in his backyard. Full coverage for about 3,000 SF. He has more on the side of his house (misters) and another unit for the front. Sure, there are trenches that needs to be dug for the connection hose, but you never have to go out to move your hose from one head to another so I see that one-time labor as an overall time saver for the number of times you have to move the hose from head to head. Also, I'm just not fan of having that connector sitting above ground and being seen all of the time. Rain Bird also makes a similar hose connect system, LG3HE, that is better in my opinion because the entire unit is below grass level. It's bigger than this, so the hole's a little larger, but no hose connection just sitting at ground level waiting to be hit be a lawn mower or weed eater, or becoming brittle from constant UV exposure.
These are below grass level. I have a difficult time sometimes finding them to hook the hose up. But yes, I’d love to have an underground system but for now these work awesome.
You can make these yourself but with better popups, Rainbird/hunter. But also if you really want popups just lay the line. It doesnt take the lawn long to recover.
Thanks for making this video. I have been looking for a solution like this and was thinking of making my own but this product will save a ton of time for me. Also, I have that same B-Hyve system and those are great! Highly recommend.

To drill under a concrete path dig a hole each side and get a long enough piece of pvc pipe about 1.5 inches on diameter and cut it sharp in an angle. Twist the pipe through the ground under the concrete and remove soil inside it periodical. It will drill easily through most soils
Dig a hole on both sides of the concrete use a piece of PVC pipe 3/4 or 1 in with a hose and adapter glue hosen adapter to the PVC pipe attach your garden hose and turn the water on all the way put slight pressure on the pipe it will go right through
Hi awesome video thank you I was thinking about either getting irrigation system done or trying to do it myself but after seeing this video I think this might be better I just had a question about the actual sprinkler head. I see how far I can go in the video but is there a way to change the spray pattern or shorten the distance?
Great video and product. I will try this. How is the quality? Are they still working fine? Any issues? I read the reviews and most are favorable but some people state it broke. Of course, they probably broke the sprinklers themselves.

Most people have eyes that they use to see. But a non smart ass answer would be you will want to keep that into consideration. I have yet to have a delivery person trip over a hose and I get deliveries about every day.
@@DIYReid -- I have a concrete step about 3 inches high leading to a short concrete walkway to my front door. You would be surprised how many people have tripped over it. Okay so you have these sprinkler heads buried in your yard -- but you can only use one of them at a time because you have to go out and drag your garden hose to each one of them and hook it up individually? So, if you have four or five of them installed -- you have to monitor the time that you used each one all during the day and go out and un-hook the water hose and hook it up to each one separately. Unless you have a few garden hoses and hook them up all at the same time.

Yeah looks easy to make from the parts bin at the DIY center. 1/2 swing pipe, your chosen sprinkler body and head, and a 1/2 NPT to garden hose thread adapter is all you need.
@@DIYReid Does't the hose connector stick up higher than the sprinkler head? How do you keep from hitting that part with the lawnmower even if the head is flush with the ground? Or keep it from being buried all the time when you go to connect your hose if it is flush?
DIY Reid say you blow out the water to winterize the heads, it rains afterward before the weather actually drop to freezing temperatures, will the heads fill with rain water and you would have to blow water out again before the temp dip?
Is there any way to tether two together so they run at the same time? I only have one spigot in my front yard. Would prefer to be able to link two of them together if possible as opposed to using a splitter at the spigot and two hoses.
Haven’t seen these in Australia, And great video btw but with so many in... why wouldn’t you just lay the pipe and even just zone say 2 or 3 sprinklers to a zone. I know each to there own. Time spent connecting hose to each pop up would be not much different to moving a sprinkler. In no way am I criticising you. Couldn’t care less if you used a watering can. Just you have spent the $$$ on the pop ups but still “ manual watering”
I run my heads along the fence line so they can't be hit. I use the sled version for center stuff on a separate spigot. The lower yard is the only one I sprinkle.
DIY Reid - not all of them do; in particular, those that are old on an older house might not have the anti-siphon feature. The “frost free” models that are for sale these days will all have anti siphon.
What up Blue Springs and/or Grain Valley! Had to get rid of EWS after they sold to a national brand. Service went to crap. Nice job with the sprinklers though. What type of grass are you growing?
An in-ground system will seem like a bargain if someone (like a postman/delivery person) happens trips on that exposed hose and sues you. 8:48 Do yourself a favour and run the hose along the edge of the grass where it meets the walkway. It won't be that noticeable, and you can leave the hose connected to the sprinkler head for the summer.
according to the company website and the video of wife of the inventor www.quick-snap.com/sprinkler you are suppose to be able to reach a screw from a slit inside the arrow on top of the sprinkler but the slit is not on any of the 5 that I bought. I had two sprinklers break at the base of the water input stem (there is a warning sign that they are prone to break there) just carrying then from the box to outside to install them so I retrieved one from the trash and cut the rubber back where the arrow is and there is a short screw but it is not long enough to disrupt the stream of water from the nozzle . I think I can rig a longer adjustment screw so I can create more spray and less distance. So far my thinking is that this is a sorry product so I may dump them and try the rain bird brand.

Is there any way to tether two together so they run at the same time? I only have one spigot in my front yard. Would prefer to be able to link two of them together if possible as opposed to using a splitter at the spigot and two hoses.
Yes. You can link two together.
Great option but how do you deal with the water pressure? After three sprinklers in my lawn there little water pressure to cover the areas needed
They recommend 1-2 going at a time.
@@DIYReid wow i appreciate your quick response, unfortunately that option is not going to work for me. Thanks
You’ll be hard pressed to find anything you can hook more than 3 or so sprinkler heads to.
your video was a big help for me. thank you
Glad I could help!
To each their own. Laying pipe under ground disturbs the ground and grass in the area and is a lot more labor and maintenance.
Any concern when mowing? Seems like leaving the connector accessible might get it clipped. Especially in my uneven bumpy yard.
With a push mower you’re good. Heavy riding mower I would just be aware of where they are. Should be fine but if you can avoid them.
I run my heads along the fence line so they can't be hit. I use the sled version for center stuff on a separate spigot. The lower yard is the only one I sprinkle.
I just bought the 2 sprinkler kit! I was wondering what hoses you used and where you got them from?
I use 3/4” Gilmour hoses like this one - amzn.to/375BXIg
Very strong and durable.
Will you need 8 hoses to connect 8 sprinkler heads? If do you wold need to move the hose to each sprinkler.
Yes. Each sprinkler will require a hose providing water.
Not just water your need to fertilize and mow regularly as well
Of course.
Great video
Thank you for watching.
Khuellllll! Thanks!
So do you just have to move the hose around to each sprinkler head since you said you were doing more than one? Or do they all connect somehow?
They send a splitter so I hook two up together in line.
Hey I watched your other video where you used pvc pipe into a t shape. Can you connect the sprinklers you bought from Amazon onto that dyi?
Sorry. Didn’t realize what you were saying. In theory yes. But you’d be better off connecting rain birds or similar.
Question: how is it possible the lawn mower doesn't chew up the hoses?
You don't leave the hoses out just the device stays in the ground.
What type of hose do I use?
Any standard garden hose.
Thank you.
How do you connect 2 or more together?
You will need a splitter like this one - amzn.to/3EUbYnq
How do you winterize it?
Air compressor. They do make a fitting for it.
Mark, if putting 2 sprinklers on same zone, what size hose do I use
I’d use 3/4
quanto é o kit
Updates for the quick snap sprinklers?
What kind of update are you looking for?
@@DIYReid How are they holding up ? I'm looking to get a few and I was wondering if you've had any problems/issues with them?
They are holding up well. I even connect the hose each time and the quick connect is holding well.
@@DIYReid ok thanks!
No problem.
Seems very expensive for a DIY system, especially being that it's still above ground. Can you connect the sprinklers together?
Yes. You can tie two sprinklers together.
Water back siphonage becareful
Do you have backflow preventer system?
Doubtful. This is super dangerous.
Your outdoor hose bibs have anti siphon valves.
DIY Reid - not all of them do; in particular, those that are old on an older house might not have the anti-siphon feature. The “frost free” models that are for sale these days will all have anti siphon.
What kind of grass do you have?
Mix of KBG and TTTF
Great video thanks for posting. Quick question... do you move your hose around to each one,
Or do you have multiple hoses hooked to each head?
I set mine up so I can hook up two at a time.
Can you provide the link to buy them? Thanks

What up Blue Springs and/or Grain Valley! Had to get rid of EWS after they sold to a national brand. Service went to crap. Nice job with the sprinklers though. What type of grass are you growing?
KBG/TTTF mix.

Any way to adjust the stream flow? Or does it only do a streamline spray?
You can shorten it. As far as pattern no.
DIY Reid you can buy nozzles that go on the end and make it different patterns such as a rain pattern or straight stream.
There is not. At least not that I’m aware of.
according to the company website and the video of wife of the inventor
www.quick-snap.com/sprinkler
you are suppose to be able to reach a screw from a slit inside the arrow on top of the sprinkler but the slit is not on any of the 5 that I bought.
