I am so thankful that I found your UA-cam Channel, Paul. I’m 70 years young and have Parkinson’s Disease. I discovered about a year ago then drawing calms my brain and, amazingly, my hand tremors as well. I have never drawn before and started with Procreate on my iPad. That got old quickly as I have always been a “paper guy”. Paper journals for decades, paper day planners for work for 40 years - so getting a sketchbook was something that came quickly in the process. I tried graphite first, but ended each session looking like a coal miner and my sketchbook was a smudged mess. Then I found “pen and ink” and that is what made me the most comfortable. I came across your channel and have purchased a beginners set of watercolor paints. I am ditching the water brush and today I will be buying some brushes that you recommend. As a photographer and videographer when I worked full-time, I know how long it takes to put these videos together. Aside from writing War and Peace here, I wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge on UA-cam. Your willingness to do so has been a life-changer for me. No exaggeration. Thanks very much for what you do. Jim in Oregon
Thank you, Paul, for the excellent lessons, as well as the wisely chosen music. Too often, a great lesson is distracted by poorly chosen music. I’m grateful to be able to leave my sound on to hear you teach, go into right brain zone, and be peacefully engaged.
Thank you for this lovely video Paul! I am not feeling great today, this video really took my mind off it. I always love your song choices. Thank you for showing us the we don’t need 50 different brushes and colours to be creative and have fun. Have a great day everyone🤍
I'm learning more and more about your line and wash. Great work again. Thank you for sharing Paul. Until the next demo. Greetings from a warm and sunny Holland
Looks like a great place to visit, enjoyed following you this morning, as I do with all your awesome paintings. Thanks for sharing all of your talent with us.😊
Thank you, Paul Clark for this wonderful demonstration. I do appreciate that you reviewed this product. It is also apparent to me how much preparation time you put into this lesson. Thank you.
So beautiful drawn and painted in line and wash. Thank you for this painting with so much details. The windows and doors are detailed wonderfully. The colors are matching. Many thanks again for this very special painting.
Thanks very much for your easy to follow and fun videos. I live in New Zealand but visited Mousehole a few years ago, and made a purchase in that lovely little gift shop. This is one tutorial I will definitely be trying 😊
Line and wash urban sketching videos are all over youtube but I really like your style best. I've tried many times and failed many times, not to copy but to achieve similar results but at 70 years I'm running short on time. Love your videos!
Can't wait to try this lovely picture. Brings back memories of holidays in Mousehole with my parents. I so enjoy your line & wash tutorials Always something new to learn from you and your talent. Thanks you Paul.
It was interesting to see that you didn’t use the brush provided with the set. Also, you used additional colours. I must admit that I found it a strange choice in the pan set. This looks like a two-tea break challenge! Thanks again.
Fun to see this come together!!! As always, enjoy watching your creativity unfold, while music stirs my emotions to tears ... good tears ... Thank you for sharing another wonderful watercolor Wednesday with us!!! With gratitude from a California Gramma ❤️ Have a great week!!!😊
Looking forward to painting this one. I seem to do better with line and wash. Also enjoyed the background music at the end. It sounded as though it had a folk modern harp influence.
Beautiful. Fun to do. I have eight of my favorite and best water colors hanging in my “studio”. I just added this one to it .4 portrait views and 4 landscape... Funny thing they are all yours. You’re the best. Enjoy your day. Thank you so much for your time and for sharing your marvelous talent...Missy
Love your watercolour style, Paul. I need to learn how not to be such a control freak and just enjoy drawing and painting like yours. Thank you so much for showing us your wonderful talent and showing us every step of the way. Much appreciated!
Paul, I really appreciate your painting process, starting with pencil and continuing to the final touches. How you explain it helps novices like me have a fighting chance at creating my own artwork. Your work is wonderful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. BTW, I love how you interject humor, and a glass of ale, into most of your videos. 😊
I am always astonished when you paint. It looks so easy, but it isn´t. At the moment I believe I never learn more than a beginner. I stuck between your wonderful videos and my empty sheets
Thank you for this lovely tutorial, Paul, and all the many others so generously given. Popped a little something in your tip jar. I have the Derwent paints but I had never heard of a ruling pen. When I watched a video of how to use them, the demonstrator said not to dip them (then had problems using it!😀). I didn't think that make any sense so I am glad to see you doing that and with masking fluid too! Wonderful. The masking fluid tip will come in extremely useful. That's my' learn something new every day' lesson.
Hi Paul. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial. I painted this over the weekend. Have never painted ink and wash, so it was different for me. I struggled with the sign letters using the masking fluid But I made it work. Learning curve. Looking forward to trying more of your lessons. Cheers from Canada!
Very Lovely subject and insightful tutorial. I will surely try it. Beautiful Beautiful artwork and excellent lesson ... I wish I had access to this during college.!! thanks sir.
I am more familiar with oil as my medium, and have only recently been attempting watercolor in this very style, and so far, I love it! I’m so glad I found your channel today, you have such amazing tips, and just watching you sketch and paint is a huge learning process for me. Thank you for all your knowledge and occasional humor…love it!
Thank you always Paul , This is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to get started before my rascally grandkids get here , it’s almost 5a here so I have a little bit of time to myself ! 😊 before I took up watercolor I had to get carpal tunnel surgery on both hands , I only had about 20% usage and it was a very depressing time in my life to not be able to hold a pencil, I had given up art for about 5 years , I have also been recovering from a knee replacement and having my back fused one year ago today , it’s been a hard recovery. To take my mind off the pain I took up watercolor , you and Margot have been a huge inspiration and you have really helped in keeping me sane ! Time really flies when you’re having fun, Thank you both from the bottom of my heart!!! ❤
Thanks Paul for sharing your inspirational talent in creating a painting of a village scene, I find your work well explained and enjoyable to follow. Thanks again stay safe
This really came to life. Beautiful. Always great to watch and listen to what is running through your mind as you paint. Very informative information as you talk. The music was lovely as well. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
A charming line and wash! As always, I learned a lot from your comments and watching your process. I was thinking I would dot masking fluid here and there on the flower bush and then remove it to add the bright pink on the fresh paper, because I always seem to paint over my blank spots. I loved the music, too! Thank you.
Thank you again Paul, for a change I do have all of these colours as I have all the Derwent sets. I have discovered that I can change the water barrel on the brush with cheap longer ones as they really are too short to use. I don’t use them often either. Line and wash is my favourite. Off to work I go! Might have a go at this on the weekend, time permitting.
This looks wonderful! I very much appreciate knowing how long the inking took, and also when you tell us how long a painting took. I'd love to know how long it takes to make the pencil sketches. I am practicing sketching every day as you suggest, and it would be great to have an idea what kind of speed to shoot for. And yes, it does get better with practice! Thank you so much for the encouragement that your videos provide. You've become an important part of my mornings.
I tried to draw The Mousehole only this week, but it was all out of proportion. But after seeing this, I’ll have another bash. I love that part of Cornwall and there are so many things and scenery I’d love to draw and paint. And I’ve just bought your book ‘Watercolour’…..so that should set me up nicely. Thank you. 😊

I am so glad you found this and it calms you. Praise the Lord.
I'm happy to watch you sketch and paint all day if I could
Thank you, Paul, for the excellent lessons, as well as the wisely chosen music. Too often, a great lesson is distracted by poorly chosen music. I’m grateful to be able to leave my sound on to hear you teach, go into right brain zone, and be peacefully engaged.

I love that you kept the mice and mouse hole in the painting. Those little details make it so charming. Thanks for another great one!
So loved the line and wash. I cannot copy on computer but i will try and draw it myself than paint. I am not very good with perspective.
Have fun Patsy!

I had my struggles but it was fun.😎👍
