Great video. I just have a question, in one section of the video shows many servers you can install to the computer so, i would like to know which one of these showed could do the "share folder" function between the hmi and the computer allowing watching the folder from the pc?
Hi Fernando, You will need to do one of the following. 1. Load the firmware onto a flash drive from your PC and then plug it into the PanelView to continue the process, or 2. Plug into the PanelView with USB C to establish a connection then upgrade the firmware from there. If you have further questions or concerns, please reach out to your local Rockwell Automation distributor for personalized support.
Digitronix BE, If your USB storage capability is more than 2 GB, that may cause the issue. You might also try deleting and downloading a new .exe file to ensure that the file structure is correct. If you have more issues please reference Rockwell Automation’s Knowledgebase at rockwellautomation.custhelp.com/app/home or reach out to your local Rockwell Automation distributor.
I just ran into a problem on which I have a corrupted firmware on a PanelView 600 compact but in my case there is a logo indicating the touch panel is disabled and wont allow me to do anything, there is a fault (red blinking light) but I'm not sure if I should pay an automation company to flash the firmware as the message on the screen is unclear I mean would flashing a new firmware solve my problem? the local disctributor didnt know what to do..
Thank you for your question. Our recommendation would be to return the PanelView to Factory default and then try re-flashing the firmware. If this does not work, consider migrating to a currently supported solution. If you have any additional questions, please contact a local branch. www.mc-mc.com/LocationFinder

Mike, newer version of Panel View run older version of file.MER. For instance, a panelview version 5.1, you can download a file.MER version 3.1 without issue. Another question: Are the applications in the internal source DELETED/ERASED when you make the firmware update? ( If you make a firmware update in a PLC you lose everything! )
Roberto,The .MER file must match the firmware version in order to run properly. You can upgrade an old .MER file to match the new firmware using Rockwell Automation’s software, but you will lose all applications when upgrading the firmware on the PanelView. Please contact your local Rockwell Automation distributor for more information before upgrading if you are concerned about losing any applications.
