I've been home 24/7 the last few days, alternating between binge watching Peyton Place, and doing some DIY projects. Hadn't even listened to the news, until a few minutes ago. Ryan O'Neal died yesterday 12-8-2023, at the age of 82. Rest in peace, Ryan. 💐🙏
Absolutely 💯 His character, Leslie, could dish it out and take it. Oddly, I loved to listen to Paul Langton speak and how he pronounced everything. Like Betty: Bettehh.
Chandler's death might have been mentioned at the institution Rachel was in-and when she heard about it,that probably caused her recovery, recorded several episodes later.(Chuckle!)
I haven’t researched it, but I think Peyton Place was simply filled with 50s/60s western tv actors/actresses. Even the music. Westerns were morality plays much like Peyton Place.
Dorothy Maguire hit her high point in "Written on the Wind" with Bacall and Hudson. Ryan O'Neil never really had a high point. Dan Duryea had a long career. Several other PP actors have had careers as minor players in so many films and TV shows. Groundbreaking series in many respects.
Great episode. So glad George MacReady's gone. I was so sick of his whispery voice & tiresome machinations---and just plain sick of his wily facial expressions in close-ups on the screen. Wilfred Hyde-White will be so much better in the role. Polished & sophisticated with 3-dimensional acting skills, along with a good, strong, crisp British accent. He's a delight to listen to. Paul Langton just magnificent in this episode.

Leslie Harrington was the most interesting character throughout the whole series! Paul Langton was so good in in that role!

Leslie is outraged that someone would blackmail him! Blaine Report, anyone?
Yeah. What goes around comes around lol
The disappearance of Allison goes right into the tomb with Chandler!
The acting ' just brilliant.
Betty is much younger and more beautiful why is she so worried? Stephen only loves his wife. Betty should move into the Inn and drive Stephen nuts.

I think this actor who plays mr jacks is dan duryea, played in a lot of westerns with audie murphy
yes, that's Dan Duryea; a superb actor
Agree, I always though he was a very good actor.

He died not long after this.
A lot of film noir!
Oh, Rodney and Norman, just lay off your dad!
The only thing Rodney is missing besides his curls are a halo and angel wings.
There’s getting ready to be a cat fight. Rawr.
Ryan o neals eyes look like he has been sunbathing with glasses on. Or the make-up hasnt been applied correct

Dorothy Malone, not Maguire. Dorothy Maguire was another great actress, but a few years older than Malone.
You don’t consider Live Story a high point in Ryan O’Neal’s career?
@@dianarockwell6256 OMG Diana I was just thinking the same thing. If Love Story isn't a high point, WHAT IS?
@@dianarockwell6256 Loved Love Story!
@@dawndittmar7751 Absolutely. The ending scene. 😭
