Hi,my name is Phil I did 50yrs on the footplate 8yrs on steam as a fireman at edgeley shed in 1961and I fired this locomotive a number of times as well as others i finished my time out at longsight as a driver I finished in 2011 tanks for the video the locomotive is Bahamas Regards Phil.
Some great lighting shots👍 Thought for a moment you'd slow-mo'd 7F as a kind of homage to S&D/Pines days!!! Excellent "on shed" shots, really captured the good old days!! 👍❤
Thanks very much! It caught all of us waiting by surprise, at how slowly it came down the bank - looking around at each other with puzzled expressions. Turns out, they had a 13 minute section time, so had no need to take it at line speed. Thank you, the camera really didn't do it justice.
Brilliant southerner up to your usual standard and more thanks ,hope to do the Mid Hants some day ? Did my own tribute on my 00 layout today pity we did not meet up when you filmed at Wilpshire and Langho maybe some day. Keep safe. Brian from Lancs
Brilliant shots as always! Your videos do make me realise how I should really invest in a tri-pod at some point instead of filming everything handheld. I managed to hit the gala on the Saturday and it really was a great day as both a visit and for filming. Keep up the good work :D
Thanks very much, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! A tripod is a worthy investment - even a basic fluid-head model, not massively expensive and very durable. Good to hear you enjoyed your day at the Gala
I'm off to this gala on Sunday, some impressive shots there, especially the Ropley Shed ones at the end! I'm quite surprised tho, that having the 7f there, they didnt use it to recreate some double headers?
I hope you enjoy your day Sunday - though be warned, it is very busy, and if you're planning on getting lineside shots, some local farmers are not very impressed with the treatment of their land so far this weekend. Thank you, the night shots were incredible to witness first hand, the camera did not do the reality justice. I believe it may have had something to do with the current restrictions. With passengers unable to change coach sets, I think the railway didn't want to offer something to certain passengers that they couldn't offer to all.
Wonderful photography from a master of his craft .
Really enjoyed the program. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks very much
Excellent photography and wonderful steam engines
Thank you
Impressive shot of "Bahamas" running 'light engine' tender-first. :)
Thanks very much. Was worth the early wake up.
Brilliant video. The shed shots at the end are outstanding.
Thanks! Couldn't resist going on shed at the end of the day, very much worth it.

@@TheSouthernerYTChannel yeah, I did hear to avoid Northside Lane, as the farmer is quite cross
I think we saw the same post on Facebook
Wish camera users would put their cameras on silent!

Hello, where were the shots between 0.24 and 4.00 filmed? Would love to go there and watch for myself. Thanks!
Northside Lane Crossing, between Ropley and Alresford.
Where did you get the shot of Bahamas running light engine?
Northside Lane Crossing. It's on a public footpath between Alresford and Ropley.
