I've really been enjoying learning violin, because I'm realizing how many jigs have similar roots to each other :) This one sounds really similar to Old Joe Clark, but goes higher in pitch rather than lower in the second half. Thanks for sharing another wonderful song!
They certainly are similar! They're both in A dorian mode, I believe - essentially, not a major or a minor key but a mix of both. Gives it a kind of medieval feel :)
