The biggest problem is lack of " territorial roots" and the Academy system. When we say Club or Sports Club we dont mean Club as in people of similar interests doing an activity (not by default atleast) but as per the Clubs owning or having multiple Sports related academies and gyms and being part of the local communities hense why here in Europe fans of Clubs support all sports not just their favorite because for us although football is our crown jewel it is the club and the history of the area and the culture it carries. Clubs here feed kids and the homeless/poor , they take kids off the streets and into sports like football/basketball/volleyball/martial arts and even chess and swimming , they built free access pitches where people can go and play whenever they feel like , they offer jobs to locals (not the really big ones but still) and most of the time people DONT pay to enter football academies ( as i hear they do in America) they just do trials with kids and train them and those who are good get picked up to the higher levels. Thats a reason why people are extremely passionate (not just the Ultras ) about the clubs and not just "super fans" like they are in America , in diffrent words the Club is a local version of your country , the same way that you sing the anthem and the songs and the same way you feel for it.
Zealand He is also a streamer of Football Manager, is a game about this sport better than FIFA, FC, etc , I've been playing it for 4 years, I recommend it if you want a very detailed game on this sport, next month Football Manager 25 should be out
The biggest issue is the academy. America could never make a Lamine Yamal. Like literally never. In America he’s not legally allowed to play pro without going to university and because he’s 16 he’d have to pay to keep on playing. He’s someone who didn’t come from a rich background, so it’s not likely he would’ve paid. Whereas in this country, if you’re good enough, the club will make sure that you make it pro, regardless of age. Academies are the backbone of the footballing structure, you can’t just throw money around and buy big stars and expect your league to get better and get more views. Ppl are way more likely to be invested in homegrown talents and a lot more ppl would respect the league if the homegrown players did well at World Cup. MLS, Saudi and China have all tried to just throw money around and sign big stars to make their leagues better, but they haven’t realised that the investments in the academy are the key
I really love your football journey so far
