And.... no busted knuckles. Good work, men! Nice to see the real, dirty work that goes into this type of "restoration," as opposed to the sanitized stuff you see on the "reality" cable shows
As much as I like the picking and swap episodes, it is nice to see you back in project mode! Like the time lapse sections that show how much work goes into some of the jobs, not as simple as it seems!
I always enjoy the show. I always learn something, even though I’ve been building cars for 40 years. Mad fab skills matt. Great job on production mike.
Also this channel captures the "I better do this pretty fast so my janky ass shit doesn't get me killed" side to car building that many others don't. The "oh god" when the ratchet strap slipped a touch echoed in my soul.
You guys ROCK, it’s no wonder that your channel is the BEST. Who doesn’t like variety in their life? This is what separates you from the rest. I’m gonna love watching this build
It's just way cool ,too see guys living their dream! I, did this kind of work at A, very young age. About, 13 years old And friends were older 17 year old , got along with more mature . They liked me for my knowledge of machine shop, Tools Micrometer dial indicator & machine shop Starrett , Presicion Machine shop Level's. We got along Well. Life long friends . Cars were cheap We would go to a local scrap yard full Of what we dreamed about! It is very Cool to see these guys work on these True too Life Hot Rods!
Good Morning Matt & Mike ( Tis Sunday morning here right now. ) Well, another Hot Rod Is taken into the "Reconstructive Ward" ! You guys work well together wether mike is behind the camera or wrenching. That make doing things like this fun and rewarding. Noting the door gap was a good place to start in the process of resetting the body back to factory shape and fit. This will be a nice car when finally put back on the road. Thanx fur bringing us along for the ride. Be safe & Well EVERYBODY
idea! A turnbuckle in the middle and a vicegrip or c-clamps with teeth on both sides, no welding necessary. The plate on the right side of the frame may have been a battery shelf.
A friend turned me on to you guys. I am a former SR-71 and U-2 spy plane fuel system mechanic, and I love seeing things taken apart. Plus you can't beat hotrods :)
Matt..could you please inform Mr.Delorean that many of us would like to hear more stories..was fascinating to hear him recollect the past, ( 12/12 show), with your car, but mostly i would like to hear the stories about Woodward and the cars..and the times..part of the greatest generation flexing their spirit after a trying war era..your channel has grown in many ways..and this is one great example..stay safe and healthy..
Great job on this episode. This is one of the better videos I’ve seen on your channel. I liked seeing everything on the time lapse. I know it’s hard to figure out what to show and what to edit out. Especially when you are watching how long and what is repeated from similar tasks. I really enjoyed the show. Thanks for the fun. 🤠
Thanks for your great projects and helpful tips. You have motivated me so much that today I'm going to buy a Ford model A (1930) Tudor to build myself a hotrod. Greetings from Germany. Keep up the good work!
Man another great video and job well done. Working on cool old junk is fun but working on cool old junk with a good friend is even better! You guys are doing awesome. Hats off to you both. Thx a bunch for sharing. -Juan in Virginia
Great episode man. Watched the entire 40 minutes. I have a 31 Model A 5 window I picked up recently, sight unseen. Didn’t realize how much of the body and sub frame was destroyed or just gone! But this gets me motivated to work on her.
Another awesome video. What I really appreciate about your videos is the safety aspect of it . Mike telling Matt about putting his shield down , I always see guards on grinders, safety glasses and gloves worn. Too many other videos out there where safety takes a back seat. Keep up the good work guys.
No new ideas! All the original bad ass hot rodders and racers did it all first! We’re just trying to emulate their coolness! Can’t wait to see you get on yours!
Nice work you guys are very informative. I have a 32 ford hot rod that I began building starting With two frame rails, 5 yr project and with be on the road come this spring. Once again great show
That was a great deal of work to get through in a day guys. Hotrodding has certainly moved on since those days. Finesse definitely wasn’t a part of the build back then. Look forward to seeing the rebuild over the coming months, the Coupe is certainly in safe hands this time 👍👍. Regards from the U.K.
Great video and you guys know what you are doing and you are not professional mechanics but you have good skills and you are not old timers I admire you guys for what you do
That's cool getting to see the chassis the the motor mount cross member they had in there for why block came out of a 53 to 56 Ford and so did the transmission mount cross a member or k member same with the rear diff looks cool can't wait to see what you do with it
Morning Matt & Mike, this is progress! As always another great video, one thing that always has been a concern of mine is fire....nothing flammable is in our shop, except rags, brake clean, mineral spirits(Lol)...I have fire extinguishers in obvious places...on another note ya'll need another building to store body's etc. Be safe!! God Bless!!!
Now this is gonna be one great build to watch as it progresses. Especially with all the frame and body mods you have to remove or repair. At least the stering box is intact. Now we gotta wonder about the Axel's and sterring gear.
Thank you for sharing this with me and looking forward watching the it come back together again ! Take care , stay safe and healthy with whatever you guys maybe doing next ! Doing well here in Kansas .
Love the channel Matt and mike you guys have the car bug bad which is awesome my son lives in Pottsville I live in ct would love to swing by the shop with my gasser and chew the fat with you guys and check out your cars keep the faith and the killer videos be safe
Matt you got some really cool cars i dig your barn finds keep up the good work Matt and Mike hey I was going to ask your music in your videos it's cool you guys keep up the good work matt. Hey and I don't think they're having Turlock next month what a bummer!!
Love the work you do, especially the longer episodes, you keep it interesting and the camera positioning is good, even better the fact you blurred out the ass crack footage, its not your buddies best feature. Im from the uk, scotland so im not familiar with a few of the cars you work on so the bio or education you give on the history is educational. Thanks for all the hard work its much appreciated
@@IronTrapGarage its a pleasure buddy honest, thank you for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, editing and uploading is a task in its own, so thank you and everyone involved.
Love you guys and the show. I always learn something. For God's sake, get some decent fire extinguishers (or more of them) especially close to where you are using the torches.
We have some. Fire extinguishers create giant messes and are for when the fire becomes more than just something you can easily put out with a damp rag or water. I don’t want the shop filled and covered from an extinguisher. If you’ve ever used one you know how much of a mess they make.
I had a J2 w/ front and back carbs blanked. Dad said I had too many cars in the yard so the car had to go. Last known address was a dump (not landfill) in Augusta. Michigan. The entire 98 4 door went into the ditch.....probably still there. hood was in place.
You guys work well together. Picking is different than workshop/garage "trust" & decision making. On those doors .. I'd have still eyeballed my buddys' opinions .. HA !!! That's just me though. 😆 🤣 😂 Pretty damn cool .. watching you guys do otherwise. Very cohesive. Good to see. 15 thumbs up !!
Way to go Mart and Mike blowing this car apart and letting us know your plan of attack to clean up the frame and what you want to do to put it back together
Reminds me of the 32 5 window I could have bought for $750,00 back in 1981! Car had a horrible channel and my buddy who had a Model A talked me out of it. Regerts, sort of. If I had bought it though, I wouldn't have bought my Willys coupe that had been in storage since 1963 a couple yrs later and I still have the coupe... It all works out!
Looks like they cut up a t bird back in the day, big round tube engine crossmember and the center X out of the frame too, with the hump and the seat would make sense. Bet they had a crashed one that they parted out. Is that an old t bird rear end too?
Matt, can you write the year on the windshield ('32), like a car dealer? You have so many cars now, I can't keep them straight. PS Great production and content. The effort really shows.
And.... no busted knuckles. Good work, men! Nice to see the real, dirty work that goes into this type of "restoration," as opposed to the sanitized stuff you see on the "reality" cable shows
100% we want to show the good, bad, fun, and tedious parts of this hobby!
Love this car and the crudeness of the way things were done. I used to race stock cars and I call it “ Yep that’ll work engineering” lol
When you watch those TV shows build a car in three weeks, then watch Iron Trap doing the work for real...
As much as I like the picking and swap episodes, it is nice to see you back in project mode! Like the time lapse sections that show how much work goes into some of the jobs, not as simple as it seems!

Awesome. One eye open, knee deep in covers .. 44 degrees in Texas. Happily sleeping in with a new upload. Absorbing hot rods thru the pillows.
Also here in Texas watching this, procrastinating going to see how badly tenants trashed my rental property.

Hey Matt and Mike, nothing like another great 32 ford project. Thanks for the video
I bought onr of those screw busters when i was at Eastwood Pottstown jyst recently. Cant wait to use it.
