472 - The Power of the Holy Spirit Part One
Luke 24:44 & 45: He taught the scriptures so that they could understand them.
Verses 46-48: “Remission” is the word ‘forgiveness.’
Verse 49: The “promise of the Father”= power from on high.
Acts 1:4, 8: To “wait for the promise of the Father”= power of the holy spirit.
Luke 24:50-53: This is the ascension. They were asked to stay “in the city of Jerusalem.” Verses 49 and in verse 53, “They were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God.”
Mark 16:15-20: And “signs shall follow them that believe.”
Acts 1:1-12: The power of the holy spirit is coming soon-the ascension.
Acts 2:1-4: They spoke as the Spirit (God) gave them the utterance.
Verses 5-11: Look at the wonderful works of God.
Verses 12-18: We read right from the book of Joel earlier.
Verses 21-33: Look, “the promise of the holy spirit” see and hear-speak in tongues.
Verses 34-47: Now look at what is available, “the gift of the holy spirit.”
