@@Rob_2020 Have you ever inspected an active owl nest, particularly with older nestlings? Unless the nest cavity is open enough for the older nestlings to poop over the side, they are littered with droppings, regurgitated pellets (which get trampled into a carpet of fur, bones, feathers, and insect exoskeletons), and rotting remnants of partly consumed prey. Owls generally have the filthiest nests of any vertebrate animals! Large falconiform birds are nearly as bad; that furry carpet so visible in most of the nesting Bald Eagle livestreams here represents years, and sometimes decades, of accumulated prey remains.😣
Sorry for late answer, but I didn´t have more than one Pekin Robin back. That´s my only bird for the moment, birdkeeping is fading out for some years now.
