Brian, my wife and I lost Sasha (our 16 year old miniature schnauzer) just a few months before you lost Sierra. I was not able to watch your videos for a couple of months back then just due to the grief, but you have become an extended member of the family. My wife and I are moving to Wyoming in the Spring. We love the Rockies and the backcountry. You represent a wander-lust that I have had since I was a teenager. I am 61 years old now. Keep the videos coming.

Thank you, Brian, for sharing your story here. You are a big inspiration. I am 48 and my husband will be 50 next month. He lived in Colorado and I moved from Michigan in 2003 to go there, then we had to move to Michigan in 2006. We have been subscribed for quite awhile. I am still so amazed at your story, and how you overcame so much and the healing and life you are living. I never have had a drug/alcohol/etc issue, but I admit a struggle with emotional eating for my whole adult life. It damaged my health, but I am working on things and doing better than I was. Watching this today has helped me a lot personally with hope. We love what you do, the traveling, winter camping, your work on your land in Arizona. I wish you the very best with your channel and hope you keep getting tons of new subscribers. Sending Prayers and good thoughts your way.
    God bless you and Meadow.

My boy Rocky has been gone coming up 12 years this February. Have his ashes and some of his toys in my bookcase. I miss him every single day. He was my everything. He could have passed for Sierras brother, identical twins. Love the videos. Hope you come across Sasquatch again soon. Keep safe…

I can't remember when I started watching you but it has been years of enjoyment. I was amazed at how you lived in a tent in colorado. I live in Colorado and just couldn't believe how someone could survive. You showed the way and it's not as complex as I thought but still challenging. I would love to do what you do. Maybe in the future. Since I'm not doing it, watching you helps fill the void. For anyone who is homebound you are a godsend. People get to go on trips and see amazing places without leaving home. I also love the campsites and scenery. Thank you so much! I look forward to watching you for years to come! I know your heart is heavy missing Sierra but she is always with you! Her spirit lives on! Just talk to her daily to relieve your sadness.

Thank you for your back story. I met you , and Sierra in Buena Vista. If I saw sierra outside the coffee shop, I knew you were there, hanging with the coffee cluck there.
I enjoyed talking with you, and that group. I was going through a divorce, and trying to get my life together. It was encouraging to me what you were doing. Thank you.
I later found your UA-cam channel, and was happy to hear how things went going with you. I’m sorry for your loss, Sierra is missed. Such a sweetheart. Again thanks again.

I don't comment a lot Brian but I still get choked up over Sierra. She was truly a godsend and she loved you dearly. The first videos of yours that I watched was your winter camping in Colorado...and the idea of putting a wood stove in my trailer was from your stove in your two room tent. So thank you for a better heating option than a Chinese diesel heater.

I am so sorry for your loss people that don't have animals as family really need to try it out. The ask for nothing and give you so much in return for a treat or just a run off leash. Here's hoping your new family member brings you many days of joy I really think seara would want that for you . Plus when you give a shelter dog a second cans at life that's a GREAT THING.

The bonds many of us forge with animals are as strong or even stronger than human ones. I've read different explanations of the phenomena but it's more than the sum of it's parts . I buried my old cat about six months ago and still can't look at his grave and keep my eyes dry. They say it will get better, I'm counting on it. Just subscribed my friend.

It's a great time to do exactly what you are doing right now ! It's hard to fathom people holding down jobs in cities where rental prices are insanely high , so they are living out of their car/van/bus conversion . What a depressing way to have to make ends meet . At least you live out in the natural world , & have adapted well to diff. situations.

Man, I was prescribed three 1mg klonopins a day. I mostly only ever took 1 a day because 3 is way too much. Then they just stopped working entirely so I quit taking them. Didn’t realize you’re not supposed to. Went through almost a year of living hell, including ~6 months of seizures which I never had before. Took a week or two to realize why, but I never looked back even though I had hundreds sitting there and could temporarily stop the nightmare.
I’d rather take any other substance than ever take another benzodiazepine. The fact that they’re schedule IV instead of II and handed out so easily blows my mind. Substances that work on GABA receptors are the only ones that can kill you if you quit taking them. Glad you overcame it, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone:

Side note, I too got addicted to benzos. That lasted over 20 years. It was the only way I knew how to deal with the stress (anxiety) of corporate life. Not easy to get off. You saved your own life. Which of course is really the only way. Safe travels.

I started watching you because Amanda from tidellinetoalpine mentioned you were as devoted to Sierra as she is to Frank. I've been a fan ever since. They say, and it's true, that you can tell the character of a person by the way they treat animals. You're a good one.
Congrats on escaping corporate America. I did too. Would have put me in an early grave.

Props to you. I have been there, addicted to prescription pills also. I know what you went through.

I never liked history in school. Then I found books by Tom Woods and Tom Delorenzo. I had to unlearn what learned in 12 years of public school.

Funny, you mentioned not paying vendors on time. I worked for a company that delayed paying vendors until they absolutely had to, and the vendors knew this, and charged us accordingly. It was a dumb move, pissed off vendors and built a somewhat hostile relationship.
