As crazy as it sounds, her stating that she’s still grieving helped me. Sometimes I feel like I should be over my loss by now…… but, I’m not! I’ve just decided to grieve inwardly…… don’t want to bring others down.

I don't think you're reaching at all. They didn't have to show Nip, play his music, or even have Jonah's character name drop The Marathon store when he was speaking to her parents.
I liked the way L.A. was shown & represented in this movie, not to mention how they threw M.C. Eiht's song is in there as well.

Agreed! I lost my husband 4 years ago and although I'm in another relationship, the pain never goes away. He was my best friend and I still miss him.

I love that she mentions waking up in the morning, incense, light coming through the windows.. she stated that not only does her kids deserve a happy mother but she deserves happiness as well.
