This guide is useless, it deletes the EFI boot of macOS. Dual boot with the Option key doesn’t work.

Did u follow the video till the end ? It wont delete EFI and uses the existing macOS EFI partition to install grub files.

Dual booting macOS in T2 chip macbooks without proper guide could possibly brick and make macOS unusable since it will modify EFI variables and remove macOS from the boot menu. It is unrecoverable unlike without T2 chips or M1/M2 machines. Please use the T2Ubuntu guide instead of this guide.

I use ubuntu based distributions (Pop OS, Zorin) on a Macbook Air 2012 since years. I tend to give linux a separate efi partition and use rEFInd as bootmanager. It can boot OSX easily and looks awesome.

Yes it's nice to have a separate EFI partition , but new ubuntu installer doesn't allow me choose the sepearte EFI partition to setup a boot loader.

Try this turn off your Mac.. Wait fro 30 Seconds, Then turn on the Mac by holding power button and option key at the same time and wait until you see an apple logo. From the boot menu choose Macintosh HD

@@kskroyaltech doesn't work. I think I know the problem. I installed macOs HighSierra via the Open Legancy Installer on my Mbp from 2013 and the installer needs to be installed on EFI. When I installed ubuntu, i couldn't choose where to install the bootloader. So the openlegacy stuff was overwritten and therefore macOs was broken.

I encountered the same error. When I first clicked on Flash, there was a window asking for the writing permission to your USB. I clicked OK but then it gave no response and froze. After that I restarted my mac and do reinstallation of everything many times, no success.
Finally, I figured out I have to enable the permission setting for balenaEtcher. That could be found from System Settings -> Security Privacy -> Privacy -> Files and Folders. You should enable the permission of balenaEtcher on Removable Volumes there.
Then just restart Etcher and rerun the flash button.

@@kskroyaltech It is your misleading guide wrong. This guide does not work for any T2 macbooks and does not contain the required kernel patches to work. This guide even has the possibility of bricking the T2 Macbook also and unrecoverable. You need to use the T2Ubuntu community ISO instead.
