Agreed. No band ever caught me emotionally like them. Fan since "Where lovers mourn" I caught the album three years late in 2006, I was 16 back then. I still think they are the best Doom Band ever. By a million miles. I love Katatonia (a lot) and other Bands, but Draconian so amazingly unique...

What's even more intriguing, is that they did not reach their climax yet, so I am really looking forward for more upcoming Draconian albums \m/
I love Draconian .All the female vocalists are amazing. THE MAN IN front is a incredible powerfull voice.
The main reason why I love this band is due to their originality, musically and lyrically. The powers and meanings behind them are so powerful and are unlike any that you usually hear.
The more I hear their work, the more I love these guys...

What captured me with this band is how the vocalist truly complements each other. Also how the instrumentalist seem to sync up so perfectly that each of their songs raise strong emotions and thoughts, painting vivid pictures. For me Draconian's songs are fascinatingly poetic.

this is music that represents the struggle i think you will never want to graduate college if you keep listening to this it celebrates personal depression and struggle even when your succesful your thinking of the struggle!!!

To be honest, my personal favorite growler will have to be Eluveities Chrigel Glanzmann however Draconian wins my heart with it's lyrics and perfect execution of growling and symphony. Just my personal opinion of course :)

I know what you mean. To me many make nice music but sound the same (like Diabulus in Musica, Stream of Passion, etc.)
I keep searching though for such bands because when one stands out it's really good and symphonic/gothic symphonic is my fave metal genre. Recently I decided to listen to Delain's first album even if I didn't really like their singles, and I discovered an album full of wonderful and different songs!!
This is the 1st Draconian song I hear. I'll listen to more to make up my mind.

I saw a lot of people in the comments talking about how Mark Jansen is such a horrible growler. holy shit, I don't think I've ever disagreed with anything more in my life. I won't say anything more, because I am not a douche and I respect other people's opinions, but jesus, Mark is one of the best growlers I've ever heard. you just have to be into death metal.

@@sandraelizabeth5361 Yeah, his growls are so bad now. He used to be a good growler during the times of Tristania and early Sirenia, but nowadays not so much.
@foglalatazanyad Yeah, I hear you. There are so many commercialized mainstream bands with harsh vocals...NOT! There is nothing "mainstream" about this except that it is a top notch production.

Not trying to start an argument, but Anders's growling really *is* the sound of the band.
It's not very original as a whole (e.g. the vocalist follows too closely the Theatre of T), still there are some great moments, especially the slowdown from 2:44 on.

@blaxxus i listen their previous albums and i dont think this is a bad one, i agree that this one was a little bit different but not in a bad way, less slow but still with the essence of doom, i really like it...
