Interesting to hear about his early work supporting Jack Benny. Like a lot of his era he put his time in and became so good at his job he made it look easy.

Cavett was my favorite talk show host. Carson was king but Dick took the time to get great interviews with stars who wouldn't go on the Tonight Show.
