In this clip, Tay Savage discusses the current state of violence in Chicago, attributing much of the chaos to online influences and the music industry. Savage suggests that the internet culture and the pressure to maintain a certain image have turned many into self-proclaimed "shooters." He highlights the shift from a time when specific groups were involved in violence, while others focused on education or business, to a present where anyone might carry a gun. The absence of leadership once provided by figures like Larry Hoover has led to increased disarray, with fragmented groups perpetuating the cycle of violence. Savage points to the accessibility of high-power weapons and the glorification of crime through rap music as exacerbating factors. Despite this grim outlook, he refrains from participating in the trend of disrespecting rivals in his music, noting that many who do so haven't actually lived through what they rap about, deeming it "goofy."

@@billl-b7iwhat are u talking about lol
Same corny jokes all the time.
No fathers. Notice almost all Drill rappers and most inner city black males say they wanna buy they granny or mother a house. Shit, me, one of the few from the inner city who a buy my father a house first. All respect for that man. Strand me away from the streets when my mother couldn't. Black fathers gotta stay in your kids' lives. Because of a lot of the time, the mother's get all the praise, but it's actually the father who most of the time determines their kids' outcome.
Tay is a smart dude. Gonna be a huge drill music effect documentary one day. Maybe all the grown fan boys will start repeating this now instead of trying to look “down” by acting dumb.
Grown fan boys? Bro, you realize most of us were growing up during the drill music era. I was 12 in 2012 when don’t like came out. You say that like ninjas were 30 years old listening to this shit.
@@shottakush8404😂😂 i was 13 when don’t like came out
@@shottakush8404 Ninjas? 😂😂 ghey
goofy ahhh comment
@@shottakush8404 I was 12 when chief keef came out. Most of us were actually my age. And that’s just when drill came out. There’s grown ass adults listening and making excuses for drill music today.
Chicago was turnt ever since Al Capone got there
Your right and your wrong. Dean O’Bannion and the Irish mob owned Chicago before Capone showed up. The Irish mob alone created the segregation that exist in Chicago and had the police and mayor as allies. It wasn’t until Torrio started feeling that heat on the south side where he chose to go get Capone. Capone as an outsider, was able to come to the city and make it more violent but he also showed more love to the city and its people than the punk ass racist Irish mob. So yeah you’re right Capone definitely turned the city up but the Irish mob already had it the way it was. They just had a stick in their ass. And till this day you can feel that stick in the atmosphere. Chicago my home and I stay away from the BS but it’s good to leave and see other places. Might make you appreciate your home more when you see the living conditions of other cities.
@@BarthBennett-qv5kyu can definitely feel it in the air especially walking downtown, i mind my business tho & have a good time, i came to find out u live longer that way
Herb said the same thing about Chicago in one of his interviews. Back in the OG drill era you still had dudes like Sosa, Bibby, Herbo, Fredo, Breezy, etc that didn't rap about strictly drilling. That's because in their era you didn't have to be a shooter to get respected. Now you do.
The violence been going on since the Al Capone days. Now it’s just lil kids with no structure being killers and robbers
The blacks are laughed off the yards by the whites and Mexicans bc they have no structure
thats the biggest issue... if you look in the 90s alot of the murder victims ages are mid 20s to late 30s... there was more crime but it was with ppl deep in the life. Now most the ages are teens... its like they have no chance anymore to grow up and see its a bad life
@@Tuelz... tell me you weren't alive in the 90s without telling me you weren't born yet in the 90s😂😂 black males were lucky to make it to their 21st birthday back then whether you were a stand up dude or a gangbanger.. now it's just the gangbangers offin each other.. which is what the ✡️ man wanted when he was giving yall record deals to rap about killing ya own kind😂😂
Music is definitely the influence cuz ppl who never been through shit of course that gone excite them
Shoebox baby is a perfect example of what he was explaining in the 1st minute
This man said speak on something that you did 😂😂😂😂😂
Everybody wanna be shooters because if you’re not “Like that” people don’t wanna give you a chance these days.. It can 20 drill rappers lit at once and couple melodic/pain rappers that get credit within a couple years.. Music is a huge factor.
Seems like he's a smart dude and more mature than he used to be. Good to see!
He sounds like lil resse
Lil Reese sounds like him tbh lol
Lil Reese is wack. So is this clown
So are you goofy@@davidharms736
Wow what a shocker. Two people from the same city, same area and same friend group sound similar. Who could've thought, it's almost like accents don't exist and people don't share speaking patterns. Amazing.
@@geovellidrive exactly lol ..im so tired of seeing these comments
Vlad the only person I’ve heard pronounce Chicago the way he does. Most ppl say Shicago. He actually say Chicago
He’s right music is definitely a huge influence on the culture and how people think
Indeed
UA-cam in general
@ yeah but everybody wants to be like the rapper shiiit you can’t tell me that’s not the truth, back in the days you had killing it not that much our grandparents grew up listening to singing and love music, dance music ect….
When the d boys started rapping every one wanted to sell dope or keep selling dope, when that gangsta rap came out most dudes wanted to be gangsta,
I remember when I grew up I wanted to be like 50 cent than crhis brown with the dance moves you get what I’m saying and most of us are heavily influenced by music alone and I haven’t even talked about the movies ect…
1:35 people still got murked.
Young man is solid and smart! Salute that, you can keep it g while not letting the world think your a fool.
FBG duck lives on
Good interview
He ain’t lying
Chicago has always been a Gangster City with violence but its also a Multicultural economic hub. in the past like Tay Savage explained it was those who did music, Those who were all about getting Money/ Hustling, Those who were Gang members & those who went to school and worked regular jobs now everybody wanna get high, Rap and Go Viral for being a killa. Straight chaos. I miss the old Chicago

Everybody Shooters and nobody a fighter
He stated all Facts 💯….
Tay definitely the smartest person from Chicago music/drill scene behind Sosa…he laced with wisdom & you can tell her just a product of his environment and would’ve been something if we was from a better place.
What’s crazy is, I used to think it was Durk but yea 😢😂
💣👍🏽🎯🎯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
These YNs needa follow that Lil Bibby blueprint. Its just business so rap yo shit and stay lowkey.
nothin but facts
J-mane..."i know he killed the girl mom he shot at me "😂😂😂😂😂
Mr Wick 👉🏾👉🏾 pop out fwm ✔️🤟🏾
"Murders, Robberies, Homicides, First Degrees! If you ain't got you none, you better get you some. If you ain't gotta gun, you better get you one" King Von
But Vlad ask why they turning up 😂😂😂
Chicago ghettos have always been crazy, why do they all say “kids these days” been like that since the 50s
He said some wisdom. All this tellin and snitching goin on cuz people trying to be something they not
don’t speak on nun you did n don’t speak on nun u didn’t do. jus dnt speak
MR.WALK EM DOWN SHOUTOUT TO NEEF 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Chicago been a Gangster city Al Capone days Italian mob etc before the Internet
All that just to end up saying speak on what you did not what someone else did!!! 😂
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ forbade speaking ill of the dead , as they already reached the worst condition
2:46 facts! if someone with a heart starts to house their own family, they’re going to have to keep it up!!!
Welch world 🌍
He definitely right about the government. The black community got fucked up after fred hampton died. RIP
Speak on something you did is crazy 😂
He has Gangsta's demeanor
“Talking about some shit you didn’t do is goofy” lol but it looks better and not goofy if they’re speaking on murders they did do that’ll get you caught up and have yo shhh playing in court cuz you wanna mention shhh you actually did. lol make it make sense.
Yeah but he never said talking about murders on a song that they actually did looks better tho,I'm sure he say that goofy to it best to not saying anything u did keep quiet
Tay and billy black from the same gang 😂
FBG Duck and tay savage never had beef or never diss each other
What about when you said “Mr Hop Out On Feet”
Back in the days even into the early 00s gangs would designate members to things they were good at. Like tay said some would be the get money type. Others would be the shooters. Now everyone wants clout so that’s the easiest way to them to do it. The internet really fucked up everything
FBG DUCK Never a Goofy 5:35
3:46 PEEP how Vlad sets up the question for Tay to agree with him on camera. I don’t believe it, but this is the main reason why people call Vlad the police😂😂 If you agreeing to answer questions be prepared to answer smart and dodge a few
Vlad it’s not Checago… it’s Chicago dawg… really annoying how u pronounce it
😂brah you jus going have to be annoyed then, people pronounce stuff different bro its the world we live in
@ there’s a right and wrong G
@@lastking320 it dont matter stop looking for the littlest thing to complain about😂🤦🏾♂️ its black people from diff parts of America that pronounce chicago a different way you going be annoyed by them to? 😂🤦🏾♂️cmon brah,
He dissed the dead at least once, but he probably really did it so it makes more sense lol
Trap Lore Ross really gave me the wrong impression of this guy smh he seems super cool
Why does he sound like Lil Reese when he talk?
🤔🗣why is this stuff happening in Chicago.
Tay proceeds to say what is happening. Tay has to think a little harder on this question. It's not the UA-cam, it's not the rap. What about when prohibition was there? The mob? The first black gang? Yummy? So much history in the city
It was chaos when it was out young man it’s the blind leading. The blind structure doesn’t require us hurting each other structure require us having a deep thought of intelligence to help one another back in the day. The games were created to keep the cops from coming in from hurting us so when Larry Hoover and the rest of the guys there was the opposite of everything you guys were pawns in the game
I’m from Boston these young bulls rap and internet diss like Chicago boys. But my city ain’t catching smacks like yall. Chicago different
LONG LIVE WELCH… RIP LIL MOE
I like Welch grape soda to but don’t say rip they still make Welch soda
Chicago living in hell
It’s not one city bro 😂Chicago old news get Hipp on these new murder capitals who rly get busy
sound crazy, we not murder cap but still got numbers higher than murder caps. it’s all about the death to population ratio, we a city with 3 million people in it of course a small city with 500,000 going to supersede us
Vlad said he listen to his whole catalog smh lying mf Tay definitely was dissing opps lol das my dawg doe🦍😂🤣
Vlad you don't know what you listening to 😂. Tay slick with it
They forget the city was worse when Larry and them was out yall be forgetting 😂
Give or Take!! But Overall yea... The 90's and before was Wild because the lack of Technology 💯 After 2001, shit change and quieted down for a While... Once Social Media really became Established, it got Worse again around 2012 and ain't quieted down since... People claim it's worse now because of the EBK Act 💯 Everybody Renegade! It's No Structure today! But the Thing about the Internet/Social Media and Technology is that it Made it Worse but at the same time, It's also keeping a Ceiling on how far you can go with What you doing 💯 When Drill ⚔️ was Introduced to The World in 2012, a Kid having 5 "Bodies" was pretty New... Well, we had Boosie with Marlo Mike before then but it wasn't as big as Drill ⚔️ was and Everyone having Bodies... But, Now you have the Gangsta Williams coming home and now we see how in the 90's it was Normal to have 40+ Bodies 💯 Social Media is the Reason why Alot of people are getting killed but Technology is what's keeping the King Von's and 051 Melly's with 7-10 Bodies from having 40+ bodies...
The violence is about the same as the 90s, look at the numbers of shootings, the only difference is you are way more likely to survive gsws today
@ on black p stone the 70s and 80s and Chicago make this shit look like these niggas Posing🤣🤣 most gangs that quieted down now were power houses back then🤣🤣😭 people still missing never found
And when they buy they mama a house, Chicago got the highest property taxes in the nation. So the bread gotta keep flowing. I always felt if U can prove your ancestor was in slavery, U shouldn't have to pay property taxes on your primary residence.
They aint in Peoria 😂
All the chi dudes have lil girl voices
Too bad Vlad your in your 50’s they are not so they don’t have the mentality you keep wanting them to have. You have no idea how it feels to grow up under the circumstances they have…
4:51 FBG duck had heart to do it the song !!!! got tired of king von n lil durk n the rest of them dudes
A Durk or a Von does not dictate or determined what Fbg Duck (a grown man) did with his life.
Von was locked for years when Duck was making DISS tracks and not calling for peace, so stop the revisionist nonsense.
@ king von really mad about that bus situation and and lil durk was dissing in songs all these yearsssssss
You know how many different times i've heard of people finding "loot crates" filled with mil spec weapons in some random ally in a chicago hood, or vacant vans loaded up with guns just left for someone willing to find it.
Better than saying they stole it. But at same time I don’t doubt somebody magically leaving it for “whole it may concern”
The big picture has always been these hoods where social engineered to be violent and negative. Imagine if all these dudes worked together instead of killing each other. they would take over the world.
lol total bs, failed mothers and fathers, drugs, culture of being a thug is cool and working hard being a good guy with morals is laughed at is the reason these idiots just kill each other every day.
Not some random guy dropping crates of ar15s in a alley in their hoods hahaha wtf
It’s been going on for years , it’s either CIA doing it or white supremacy groups doing it so the blacks kill each other off in Chicago
👀
All this stuff lame
Why do yall blame the internet people were getting shot by a sniper in Chicago in the 80s and the 90s it's not the government or the music it's the gangs
Governments do gun drops in the hood around america and when he mentioned the internet he was talking about shooters seeking fame off of there murder
All Durk ever did was speak on shit others done!
People need they fathers home
How about rapping about things other than killing other people
They do, but the industry pushes the bad music
Americans are suffering from mental health issues along with past trauma and today emotions with drugs and alcohol and we are influenced by type of music and movies you listen to and watch and the type of people you associate with or having to prove to people you someone you not peer pressure is real and you all heard the term monkey see monkey do on top of that money is the root to all evil if you not right with God money can't fill that void only God can and people always abusing their powers/position we have to hold each other accountable and stop watching people fall by the waist side we just have to do better as a human race
The music and social media brainwashed us
