- It sounds like there may be a lot of rain and warm weather for this years Duck Hunting 2017 opener here in Minnesota. I decided to do some pre camp meal preparation in case the weather turns out to be nasty.

Good luck. Where we live, 8/10 duck hunts are in the rain and the occasional one in good weather is always a treat.

i love watching your videos on either channel good hunting but i am more of a fisherman myself and you make me hungry
So joe you are going deer hunting in October and you said Sara could not make it and I love the things you make like potatoes and porkchopes and all the other meats you make.
Deer hunting is in November and Sara will be up for that opener but not this weekends duck opener.

Joe do you have one of the green Colman camp stoves. You can get them in ether white fuel or one pound propane bottles versions. I would think that one of those stoves would be perfect for back woods camping. You can also find at many yard / garage sales.
I have several of them. I always have one set up at duck camp and you will see it in this years video.

Good job sure like the vids.
You don't trim the silver skin off before chunking it up? It makes it cook more tender without it.
don't forget the tarp for your tent unless you already patched up your leaks.
I will be tarping it anyway. If what they say comes true (I will believe it when I see it) we may get 2 or 3 inches of rain. That would test even the best tent. I would rather be safe than sorry.

He is and I am sure he will be cooking on my fire but the last couple times he came up he brought his own food. There comes a time when you want your "Own Camp". I remember when I did. Along with that fun is planning your own meals and not eating what Dad brings up..

joe have u ever deer hunted in michigan if u have'nt u really should tons of state and plenty of deer living on it i've killed some very nice bucks on it

The duck hunting one is always the worst of the year to edit. Hours and hours of in the canoe footage sometimes from several boats. It will be a long one unless I have camera trouble. Thank you.

Man oh man wish I was going with you all. JoeandZachSurvival channel is the only channel I watch anymore. Your videos are therapeutic and keep the stress level down lol. But I must say UA-cam and there damn commercials have been showing up in your vids a heck of a lot more than they use to. But good luck on the duck hunt and can't wait till the movie lol. Potatoes going to turn brown. Won't cut it before cooking, they have to be soaked in water ...
the taste does not change. I always wonder why people care what it looks like but many do. I am not one of them. we do this at camp all the time and have for as long as I can remember.

Everybody grows up and wants to do there own thing. He has brought his own food the last couple times up. I am sure he will be cooking on my fire. When you have kids you have to let them grow up.

Grandpa always said a man that can cook well would make a great wife someday. I ruined two good women that way. The first one was 5'9 and 129 after ten yrs she was 5'9 and 400lbs. The second one was 5'5 and 129. After seven yrs she was 5'5 and 285.
