- Well after may weeks of reading every book and watching every UA-cam video, We have taken the plunge and started to install Air Sourced Heat Pumps (ASHP) and we Have gone for Air to Air.. !!

You won't regret this move Mike. I have had the Daikin Air-Air system in for a number of years now along with a 5Kw Solar generation system.
Basically what I produce with the solar is used to run the heating/cooling and i come out with n net zero cost to heat and cool the home. Cheers
Hi Roly, great to hear from you and thanks for the info mate, without a doubt one of my better decisions.😊
I've been running ground source for 21 years now. Heat pump technology is fantastic and getting better every year.
Great to hear.
Great start to project, looking forward to more videos. Should be fun 😉
Great stuff 👍
An interesting view of the different form of heating the house.
Heat pumps are amazing. They should be the default today. Getting greater that 100% efficiency just blows my mind
Couldn't be happier with ours (air to air too). Getting cooling in summer is a great advantage too (especially with the hotter summers we're getting).
Thanks Tristan.
Hi Mike, I live in the suburbs of Sydney Australia. We have a heat pump hot water system. The water tank is outside but the compressor unit is in the garage. As you know it is quite warm here and this setup cools the garage space while creating hot water for the house.
Great idea that one.
Well done Mike, thats an interesting system and with the price of fuel should be alot cheaper and more efficient to run
👍👍
Greetings from a rather wet Exmouth.
Looking forward to the rest of the series Mike.
Say hello to the home town for me please Paul.
Interesting stuff. I have a MVHR system sat here awaiting install.
If the system is going to used mainly for heating why the indoor unit not mounted on the ground? Here in China, we used this kind of mini split mainly for cooling, it makes sense to put the indoor unit up on the wall.
Really interested in this series of videos. We are getting quotes for our house to replace a faulty backboiler system, for Air 2 Air system that heats/cools 6 rooms. Had quotes for Wet ASHP but too much trouble due to micro bore.
ASHP are not cheap but over the long term better on your pocket and the environment .
Cool - just starting to watch! We have a heat pump system in our house. Overall all - as long you use them correctly, so not like conventional heating. We have a heat pump water system - we have HUGE radiators (double or triple) so they use load grade temp. Mark, 2E0MSR (P.s. are you going to get rid of your radiators eventually, or just leave them in place ?)
All the radiators are being removed at the end of the install, that should give us more wall space😅
Those clip-on microphones Mic.. Are they yours..?
Bloomin heck.. New cameras too..?
Dameon’s DJI Mic’s and my and his iPhones. Bloody nice Mic’s
@@mike-M0MSN These DJI Mic's are great - so happy with the audio they produce. I spend time filming on rooftops and out in the wind; they really have improved my recordings. And they work straight out of the box without having to RTFM. Very pleased with them.
I wonder how RF noisy the outdoor unit inverters drives are. ?
Did they find a dead body in your garden. It looks like a forensics tent.....lol
Well it is Gloucester!!
That porta-potty thing at the end - why not let them just use the indoor facilities? Will be interesting to see the eventual cost savings mate.
Not sure the engineers are house trained.. Cal sent me a photo of your days work in his workshop, I have a garage here😂
How would this work in a colder climate where it’s -10c to -40c for 6 months of the year ?
The heat pumps can deal with temperatures down to -20 deg C maybe lower and still produce heat from the air. 😊
Hi Mike - I hope it doesn't interfere with the radio..! 73 G0JLF
Daikin units, so I hope not, but if they do, I have the power switch.
I hope to god I never see you in a tutu!
Christmas is coming 😂😂
Don’t get out the deck chairs
Next time.
@@mike-M0MSN hi Mike I made the comment because of the way the men were trying to assemble the gazebo
