Batter test wasn’t “a waste of time”. That tells you if you have a good or bad battery so you know if it’s your battery or alternator or starter. It’s actually helpful if you know what you’re doing🙄 you should’ve just got the basic one that’s a third of the price if you don’t know what 75% of that stuff does
Thanks for doing this video. I was using it on my 2007 ram and it was showing me that I had a cylinder one misfire. After I realized the scanner did not have batteries inside so I do not know where that code came from. The engine is running rough so I hope it is something else. Just wanted to say thanks for mentioning about the batteries. Great video for a stupid guy like me. 😂
ABS didn't work because that's a separate plug and module in the car. Enhanced is for doing diagnostics while driving around the block, or doing active troubleshooting while the system is energized or running.
@@joeldokken5690 It's been a while since I made this comment, but I learned that it varies from car to car and year to year. In my Tbird the ABS diag is on a completely different diag plug in the trunk liner. My Silverado and Focus though talk through the CANBUS.
You don’t have to have your car running, just in accessory mode (when the lights are on the dash, and you can still play music but the engine is off). If you can’t get into accessory mode, your battery is dead/bad
You need to be able read your battery voltage, you need a minimum of 12.5 volts. For most vehicles computer systems work off a 5 volt reference. This is needed for accessing proper information and function of the computer. So if your charging system malfunctions your still able to operate vehicle till battery voltage is depleted. Most vehicles properly working charging systems have an output of 14.5 volts when running. On a starter load test battery voltage must not go below 9.6 volts before you replace the battery. Check all battery connections and body/chassis grounds before testing.

Who's "letting you choose"? hahaha. Thanks - best vid so far on this Innova scanner! @@FurryWrecker911 thanks for reminding me. I just had a "general misfire" code and it started as "cylinder six" and then ended as "cylinder six." I replaced all the spark plugs and cleaned out the spark plug wells - still had "misfire general" code so then I replaced all the ignition coils - problem FIXED!! Pretty wild.
My car turns on but I can’t give it gas when I press the pedal. All I can see on the scanner is that it’s not working lol how do I enter the codes to fix it?
Have you got help yet elsewhere? It should scan your engine light, then show you codes ex. P1401, or P1001. Then type it into Google to see an explanation on what that code means
I'm not a mechanic, but let suppose my fuel pump is dead, how do I pull codes to diagnose if it's the pump? Do I just have to get a pressure gauge replace fuel pump then hope the car turns over? Or is there a way to pull a code for fuel pump failure in acc mode.
