This sucks of what I just read on my smartphone. This venue, the Trocadero Theatre, has announced that their doors are closing in May this year. I usually see a couple of shows at this venue every year and this concert from this video was one of them. The Troc is one of those unique and historic places and this is sad news. Just like independent radio stations now we have independent venues going out of business because these larger corporations are taking over control in these markets. This is bad for smaller and lesser known bands and for music fans that like to listen to the variety of bands of multiple genres and mix of genres. These large corporation venues more than likely will not book this variety and go more for the safe acts to make a profit. Corporate rock radio is doing this with the repetitive rotation of the same bands day in and day out. Bands like Epica never get played on traditional mainstream rock radio and now it will probably be harder for them to play in more of these venues.
