This was the first tomb raider game I played. I loved it so much, I went out and bought Rise of the Tomb Raider. And Tomb Raider 2013. So far, I'm not let down. This game is amazing
I can see where people are coming from, complaining that this isn’t the Lara Croft they know, but tbh I don’t care. It’s not supposed to be. It’s a fresh take on an old and, frankly, outdated game title. I think the new story is intriguing. It holds its own against more recent games of similar makeup, and makes her a much more compelling character than she used to be. Not to mention the gameplay, which is way more engaging than the original. I’ll take a new, good storyline and fun gameplay over an aging, dragged-out-for-way-too-long series any day of the week. Can’t wait for the Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Keep em coming Square. You’re 2 and 0.
I finished that game today on survivor difficulty and i must say that this game is incredible. The last one "Tomb rider" was extremely good but they go even forward for one level. Graphics are mind blowing, story is f***ing awsome, gameplay, mechanics, skill points and upgrades and other stuff are also awsome. I also notice that a game has ability of choosing on how you can kill an enemy and that is a big plus. There are still some bugs like crashing (1 time), can stucking when you thow empty (1 in a 100 times), enemy boss Konstantin disappeared (only once) so i had to reload checkpoint - but overall those were little problems :D. Only thing that bothered me is weapon switching, and bow switching to fire arrows, granade arrows etc. it was hard and it took too much time to switch. Enemy bots were not easy to defeat especially deathless guards and I like that because a good game must be a good challenge. So overall my rating is 9,5/10 - extremly good game worth buying ;)
Would've been interesting if this universe painted her as a villain. Which...she kind of always was tbh. The cons of her actions always severely outweighed the pros. An insane body count and nothing but destruction in her wake. And what's the REAL reason? Because she enjoys it. Like she once said "I only play for sport" How cool of a twist would that be?
I've only played the first reboot, but it seemed like she shot back when she was getting shot at. I would get instantly put off if she was killing everyone for sport, but hey to each their own.

I'll be playing it on Xbone the day it comes out. I'll also be playing it on PS4 when the definitive edition comes out with better resolution, 60fps and all the DLC next year as well.

The reason it's on Xbox one first is because square enix decided the reboot didn't sell enough to warrant a sequel. When crystal dynamics( the developer that makes tomb raider) went to Sony, they also wasn't willing to foot the bill for a sequel. Microsoft helped crystal dynamics fund the game and there's a pretty nice relationship between them. I also would've preferred tomb raider on ps4, but Microsoft is the reason rise of the tomb raider even got made, so I understand the timed exclusiveness. Theres A lot of hate on Microsoft for no reason

So, whatever amount of money Microsoft spend on the game (Im guessing its a lot), they will never earn back, as they assumed the title had so hardcore fans, that people would spend money on an Xbox too (the Xbox is not on sale anymore, anywhere, as it was a month ago). I think people feel like this was a desperate act by Microsoft, to hijack a "big title" that tradition wise is a PS game, and then making the PS get it last. Its makes people wonder if things is going so bad for Microsoft, that they literally have to by off companys, and "force" people to play on their console. But Im glad that they funded the project, otherwise we might not have gotten the game at all. But good business move? No.
