my first time flying with them was last wk. we missed our flight because we arrived 15 mins before boarding. spirit jumped right on it to make sure we got a next one within 1 hr. we were suppose to go to houston. spirit sent us to orlando then houston the followin day. i have nothing but great things to say about them ❤️ the seat situation is a lil 🥴 especially in the pandemic. 3 to a row but other than that, it was chill. got there fast as hell and safely...a little bumpy but not so much that I feared for my life
I honestly don’t understand why Spirit gets so much slander/hate. I travelled with them with them twice and the ride was comfortable. Paying for bags is a lil annoying but I’m fine with not getting any snacks/water just fill up at the airport. They have great flight routes and there advertising game is on point. This airline will do just fine cause we all know it has a solid customer base. Once this pandemic over and we all feel comfortable traveling again plus more borders open up in Latin America. Game on!
People who complain about Spirit have never flown other airlines. I've never flown American Airlines and not had my luggage lost and missed my layovers because of "maintenance issues". Spirit has some of the best quality airplanes in the US, flying new Airbus A319s, they're almost never late and often early to their destinations, and you literally get what you pay for.
I'd never fly spirit. I flew frontier and they have a similar model. I didn't know I had to pay for a checked bag or leg room. I spent $130 on my round trip fare and $58 on getting one of the leg room seats and checking one bag. I will do southwest from now on thank you very much!
From what I've heard, next to Frontier, it's about the lowest of everything, and the highest of everything bad all at once. I'm just surprised they don't charge you extra to use the bathroom.
I'm 6'3" and I believe that the seat pitch of the seats on the Spirit Airline's plane's are 28". Delta's for example are 31". I have flown Spirit just to try them out and I purchased the Big Seat in the front. I only traveled with a day bag, so it was considered my one small carry on bag. I had a great experience. I had read all the fine print beforehand. When I research flights, they are not always the best and cheapest. I'm a Delta person generally and sometimes I qualify for a Medallion status and get upgraded, and get put into a shorter line which is worth it's weight in gold in resort destinations...
Is anybody surprised that an ultra low-cost carrier is struggling during a pandemic? Spirit makes money from cramming people into plastic seats like sardines, and charging $17 for soft drinks. Fewer passengers = less revenue
It’s also way cheaper for people who don’t want to pay for all that unnecessary stuff...Y’all be wanting too much for a 2hour flight...sit back listen to some music close your eyes and your there...the hell do you want...a glass of wine, dinner, pillow.
Idk why anyone who needs to check a bag or requires inflight snacking would fly Spirit. That is not their niche. Its flying from A to B for the lowest price (if you're savvy enough to take on the challenge). I think the disappointment is not with Spirit, but the expectation of standard airline perks on an ultra low cost airline. Spirit is open about their M.O. You can't get through the reservation process without acknowledging it. Ijs.
@@loripatton5638 Well when you do get a 9 dollar flight you shouldn't expect much, and if its a quick 40 minute one its not a big deal. But hours in their cattle cars are torture.

You couldn't pay me to fly Spirit. They make a Greyhound look classy.
Back in the day, like the 60’s, I’m told that Greyhound loading areas were considered great date spots
Lots of people don't have your budget, bro. That's why we need greyhound and spirit
I see you haven't been on Greyhound lately...😏
@@BigBadJerryRogers I used to fly Spirit a lot. They're awfully worse now, and not even a good deal when truly compared to Frontier and sometimes Southwest or even Delta on some routes.
Honestly I'm all about being charged for everything. I don't wanna pay for things I won't use. I wish Xfinity would apply this to their cable packages lol.
Spirit has less legroom than the back seat of a Chevy Camaro. Since you have to amputate your legs above the knee in order to fly Spirit Airlines, it begs the question: Does Spirit charge extra if you bring your prosthetic limbs with you or should you ship them ahead?
Why not just pay a bit more and have things included? How are you saving money if everything costs extra? Make it make sense.
The title of this video honestly just incorrect. Talks about how spirit is in a better position than other carriers.
I remember my first time flying spirit airlines, people were literally praying because of how bad the turbulence was and another person decided to stand up from their seat and start singing. Interesting airline to say the least.
Only took them once. I remember seeing the flight attendant knitting at the back of the plane.
So?
And? Spirit doesn’t offer a full service, everything is for purchase. So once they’re done doing that, what else are the flight attendants supposed to do? 🤷🏾♀️ They walk through the aisles to collect trash, but what else would you have them do? You want them to sit and talk to you? 🤷🏾♀️😆😂
@@daledonaldson4122 So that's the story. The end.
@@SabrinasDigitalLife I never said they can't knit. Or I'm looking down on the flight attendant for knitting. I just never seen that before and was a little surprised. That's all. So take a chill pill and relax. My comment was just an observational statement.
@@conceptcs It comes off as a little negative honestly. If you ever fly again, you will observe flight attendants on all airlines doing something. You’ll see them reading, eating, talking to each other, etc. They basically do things that all other humans do LOL. They don’t just walk up and down the aisles the entire flight LOL
My experiences with Spirit has been Fantastic. Low Prices, Fly's early in the morning and late at night. For short holidays of less than 2 weeks I gain 2 days of holidays. I know my expectations. I don't need food, booze or anything to drink in a 3 hour flight. All it does is it makes you go to the washroom. I have been on time and early on many occasions. Few times late but as expected. People need to understand the bottom line. Price and Time.
The hardest airplane seat i ever sit on, the most unpleasent staff, very poor treatment of passengers, charging for every possible thing...definitelly worst air carrier i ever teavel with in my life.
But cheap which I expect attracted you to them in the first place...along with many others. Pay your money, take your choice.
Vedran Go- totally agree!
They were the only airline to not lay people off during the pandemic they might be the only ones doing well during the pandemic.
Spirit is great tbh. Flew to Miami round trip for less than 100$. pack me in there bro I’ll suffer for a few hours to save 100$
I can tell you I flew them once and the seat was so uncomfortable, I told myself never again.
@Abusada Aviation yes its been some time now. As I recall it was when they first started painting the planes like bananas🍌 and basically taking SW Airlines low price gig...I have to say, and I know they get knocked for maintenance, but I've had nothing but good flights on Allegiant.
I recently flew SPIRIT and I’m a customer for life. It’s the best flight I’ve ever experienced.
I knew SA was struggling when I saw they’re selling Cup of Noodles on their menu.
😆😆😆...the one really struggling is the customer buying it. 😜
@@loripatton5638 ...and those same ramen noodle eating passengers can somehow afford to fly and enjoy traveling 😏.. Maybe that's why Spirit is doing so well.. in the stocks that is
No matter what airline you take the airlines always win.
When you are so early you get the file name of the video thumbnail
I flown with them a couple of times now and the only time I was delayed was because of weather which is understandable. The times I’ve flown the cabin crew are way chiller. I’ve invited the crews to parties to the airbnb or hotel with my group and they have shown up more compared to other airlines. To summarize we all had a blast. R rated.
If they're safe, I can forgo the legroom for a couple of hours in order to travel by plane
You're kidding me with the title right? Look at all the drama they attract as passengers....let's start there.
I used to work for them as a ramp agent on FFL, this company doesn’t care about you, they treat people like dirt
I saw them with holes on the side of their plane with duct tape trying to cover it ... recently in Newark.
Then you probably know that Spirit don't have their company owned ramp agents only gate agents. So you must be a contractor so tell it to your employer Lol.
@@thaabeetarot1478 A HOLE ! No way !!! Are you serious ?! Cause the plane should've had rapid decompression and emergency landing that day... oghh wait ! You don't know what you talking about.
@@maxmin5556 that’s not true. In FLL they work for Spirit.
Yeah spirit has contracted ramp agents they use DGS out here at LAS &DGS is crap for what they pat to what they expect
Lol anyone else watching this after tons of flights just got canceled and pilots are on strike leaving thousands of people strained at airports?
When you book Spirit, and add your bags and carry-on....its more/same price than any other airline.
Why bother.
Exactly right.
@Zazoo Kluk
I tried it once....and when I looked at the final price, I wasn't saving anything.
Booked with United instead, without the hassle.
Why would you fly Spirit if you need to check a bag?
@@loripatton5638
Exactly.
Nobody flies empty-handed.
Damn, they used to provide nonstop $64 roundtrip from Florida to Boston. Now it is $45 due to the pandemic. hopefully this airline doesn't die. It cost $25 to take a bus from Boston to New York one way.
Idgaf what y’all do or how y’all do it, as long as i get there alive 💁🏽♀️
As a Canadians, that ‘not smoking crack,’ comment was the absolute best!!
I fell out my chair 💀
Spirit is the cheapest airline...also the most hated.
Delta is the most expensive, but has the best reviews...
HHHMMMMMmmmmm
I love Delta
@@DeRussellMasina me too👍
Is that the American Version of Rayinair and Eseyjet
The Greyhound of airlines 😂. I would walk before I fly Spirit
I've never flown Spirit but have heard people complain about it. I've flown on RyanAir, which they somewhat modeled, and had no problem.
I actually flew spirit about a month ago from New York to Florida and then back, I expected it to be worse but it was actually really good
I discovered SPIRIT when i visited Detroit right before the Pandemic-i think they are great!! -if you can organize yourself and pack light your golden! I use my big jacket with big pockets as a wearable bag then my backpack is apprx 25 liters in capacity -so that stuffs under the seat hollow in front of me = hassle free flying
I’ve usually had pretty good experiences on Spirit. I only fly direct and normally don’t take a bag on those trips.
Winning!
Spirit is always mentioned as the economy class airline, but we forget allegiant airlines that is similar business model and operates many flights even to small cities.
I've heard literally nothing but bad things about Spirit 😂
That's because people are dumb.
then let me be the first to tell you its actually great
my first time flying with them was last wk. we missed our flight because we arrived 15 mins before boarding. spirit jumped right on it to make sure we got a next one within 1 hr. we were suppose to go to houston. spirit sent us to orlando then houston the followin day. i have nothing but great things to say about them ❤️
the seat situation is a lil 🥴 especially in the pandemic. 3 to a row but other than that, it was chill. got there fast as hell and safely...a little bumpy but not so much that I feared for my life
The one time I had a bad experience with Spirit, it was my fault because I missed my flight. Every other time had been perfectly acceptable.
Game on!
Now I know the name of the man who was the primary force behind the demise of comfort on airlines...
14 minutes and 28 seconds later, still wondering, why is Spirit struggling 😕
I'd never fly spirit. I flew frontier and they have a similar model. I didn't know I had to pay for a checked bag or leg room. I spent $130 on my round trip fare and $58 on getting one of the leg room seats and checking one bag.
I will do southwest from now on thank you very much!
Drake really meant it he said "I don't fly spirit"
It's the "Ryanair" of america. From point A to Point B, it works.
I dont think Drake gonna fly in a 28 dollar flight bro. He got his own private plane
Love these kind of videos, so informational!
Spirit Airlines. You get what you pay for, but we get you there
Ends up being cheaper flying with southwest if you have any luggage.
One word “COVID” no need for a 15 min video.
took spirit once. just about blew my ears. never again
Explain please
@@DeRussellMasina pilot dropped the plane way to fast to descend to the runway
I love how the CEO of spirit has an Jetblue a321 model in the background. LOL!!!!!!!
he sits on the board at jetblue now.... former CEO of spirit
From what I've heard, next to Frontier, it's about the lowest of everything, and the highest of everything bad all at once. I'm just surprised they don't charge you extra to use the bathroom.
Nobody:
Spirit Airlines: We didn't lose a lot of Bags!
United and Air Canada: WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN
I'm 6'3" and I believe that the seat pitch of the seats on the Spirit Airline's plane's are 28". I'm a Delta person generally and sometimes I qualify for a
Medallion status and get upgraded, and get put into a shorter line which is worth it's weight in gold in resort destinations...
Is anybody surprised that an ultra low-cost carrier is struggling during a pandemic? Spirit makes money from cramming people into plastic seats like sardines, and charging $17 for soft drinks. Fewer passengers = less revenue
Spirit Airlines changes for everything, your own air, breath and gas 🤷🏻♀️Their customers service is terrible.
I fly and love Southwest ❤️
It’s also way cheaper for people who don’t want to pay for all that unnecessary stuff...Y’all be wanting too much for a 2hour flight...sit back listen to some music close your eyes and your there...the hell do you want...a glass of wine, dinner, pillow.
The reason, once you fly Spirit, you'll never fly it again.
