In this video we're talking about the classic range of furniture nowadays called LC after the architect Le Corbusier. You’ve all see the cubist easy chairs and not least the adjustable chaise lounge. Nowadays they’re produced by the Italian company Cassina and are attributed to the trio Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. Now let’s talk about the somewhat problematic story behind these design classics!

Rejected because she was a woman, or because she had to prove herself first? The quote you gave said nothing about her being rejected because she was a woman, and on top of that, if that were the case, Corbu would have never hired her. I've been a pretty devout follower since I found your channel, but calling anti-feminism in many of your recent videos is a turn off because it's just not always the case like you lead one to believe. If it is, then prove it. ("in other words", isn't proof.) Like I said, the quote you read said nothing about rejecting her because she was a woman.

Well, the quote "we don't embroider cushions here" is actually quite telling.

@@ScandinavianDesign101 My question still stands. If it were solely because she was a woman, he would have never collaborated with her.

talent and business has no gender and Le Corbusier proved it by hiring her.

@@agomodern are you intentionally obtuse? that quote is grotesque, and also, it's quite telling that the LC4 is attributed to le corbusier when it was in fact perriand who designed it.
