@@user-kt2qf6wq9cNot true. She was in a group with 3 other people which means they’re splitting the royalties plus label fees. Back in the day it probably was more profitable being a writer as being able to get a percentage or a upfront fee. But in this day and age the writers get little to nothing and the producers get most of the money as well as being credited as a writer when they didn’t contribute to any lyrics and also depending on the success of the song also plays a part in what the outcome turns income.

Bills was on the same album as Say my Name and Jumping Jumping and both were hits than Bug a boo and bills. So that argument is neither here nor there when the album had several hit songs. Bug a boo was like 33 on the billboard 100.
