Even if you do the conversion based on your income and expenses you will still save amount equivalent to average monthly salary in India... Any entry level SE in the USA will get close to 100k usd . Which is close to 8k usd per month.. which is around 6.4 lakhs INR per month...of which 200 usd for utility is 2.4% on comparison one would pay same % of utility bill in india . Same applies for rent..
Missing deduction of Tax almost 33% plus benefit / insurance deduction!

Also passing the jewelry was one of the limited options as safety to women in the olden days. We have more easy options now to pass on wealth safely. It will be a additional burden on kids ro safeguard jewelry which they may or may not wear in lifetime. I am talking about kids in americaa. Even as parents as we age it will be a burden on us to saafe guard. Instead it will be bettter if we can gift money to kids for a house down payment which will taken off huge pressure on them. Now house prices skyrocketing it will be very hard on our kids to maintain a lifestyle we have.
Exactly andi, but rather investing in imitation jewelry I prefer to invest in gold (as much as I can) I know it's not an option here as a safety as we used to think in India (gold will come to rescue when we r needy) but Gold is gold anywhere. Safety lockers are best option and we should give awareness to kids about the importance and to safeguard as well. Housing I agree, rather telling / giving now for down-payment for the house for kids when they grow up I prefer make them responsible to make them pay down-payment as a bachelor its much easier for them same time they learn to be responsible and they will learn eventually savings as well 🙌 but it's a long way andi. Few things i want to call out:
1. People with spouse visa contraints - home cooking, botiques - 'dantlo thappu ledu kada' annaru. It is not legal andi, we cannot run business or make sales without having a valid business established and visa to earn income. I appreciate that you are giving information andi, but dantlo thappu ledu anavoddhu - mana vallu chala illegal things granted ga chesthunnaru ila social media lo normalize chesesariki.
2. 2-3 jobs chese vallaki dhanda esi dhandam pettali annaru - not always andi, h1 people cannot work for multiple employers , and they cannot work more than 40 hours a week. Ila 2 jobs chesi illegal income kosam india lo cash kosam mana vallu higher experience jobs kooda less than 50 per hour chesaru almost throughout 2020-2023. Now even for genuine candidates, vendors are only paying 50$ per hour because of this expectation set by people doing multiple jobs. Deenini 'Moonlighting' antaru, some companies caught and fired some employees for this.
But whatever you explained about the $5000 per month income and expenses in $ is right. Also, appreciate your view about buying clothes and jewelry unnecessarily.

It’s a myth that Texas is not expensive .. post Covid things have changed and house rents and everything thing increased a lot
Kansas is bit better cost of living than Texas andi. As far I know, Houston & Dallas are bit expensive comparing rest of Texas but again they are still better than East or West coast! Hope this helps andi
