  • Overcoming huge odds, visually-impaired Kottakapu Shivani has made it to the Indian Institute of Management, Indore.
Despite her visual impairment which prevented her from preparing for the Combined Admission Test like regular students, Shivani cracked the highly competitive CAT to get admission for a two-year post graduate course at the premier institute.
Hailing from Zahirabad, a small town more than 100 kilometres from Hyderabad in Telangana, Shivani initially joined a school which did not have special facilities for visually-impaired students.
She then moved to a school that taught in Braille script, from where she finished her schooling before moving to Chennai for her graduation.
