This song is Colombian and the music genre is called “Porro.” It’s similar to Cumbia but it’s different. The music genre “Porro” originated in Colombia. Porro essentially is a Variant/ Subgenre of Cumbia which is also originally from Colombia. It’s like Cumbia mixed with Jazz/Charleston/Swing. Porro is without a doubt phenomenal authentic music and if they sample more of these songs they could easily become hits and bangers for sure. The original song is by Edmundo Arias y su Orquesta.
Yes it is colombian, i dont know why the autor used a mariachi for the cover but its okey in mexico we have more than enough stuff that represents the country we dont need to claim this.
Funny to know that ''Porro'' in Colombia is a musical genre. Here in Spain ''Porro'' means 'Joint'. It makes sense somehow
