I’m 66
Grew up, repairing Diana’s at 12-15years old. Taking em into skool and selling for a profit. Including to the teachers.
I have only ever used Springers
Love em and always usable unless spring snaps or washer goes.
I was calling out loud “ The Fly, Get the Fly” Cheers from Downunder 👍🇦🇺🇬🇧
These Dianas (especially 54 and 460) can be easily used up to 100 meters with the full power version (which enable you to use heavier pellets that are more sustainable to wind and behave better at longer distances)
I have a 54 full power version (22J in 177 (Im not in UK)) and it often goes beyond my expectations
I have an original 34 with wood furniture, the new 34 is quite a change up in design. Don't think I'll be switching, besides, I'm already saving up for a 54. Thanks Andy, I always enjoy your presentations great info with some "entertainment" thrown in to top it off . 👍👍👍👍 (Would have been 5 thumbs up, deducted one for the bad jokes and horrible puns 😁)
Diana Air Rifles are probably the best on the Market for Spring Powered models
I still have my original Diana 24 and 34 (>15 yrs old), both marked as Made in West Germany, with wood furniture. Still shooting great. 🙂👍
I have a 2017 made in Germany 34 classic in .177 with beech stock. I cannot fault it in any way. It is easily as good as my hw35k and that is praise indeed.
Love the springers and so glad to see you showking just how good they are
I love the way you present, BBC quality :-y ❤️🏆🥇
I have the Xisico B25H .22 which is a Chinese made Diana Model 34 clone and you would never know it! The build quality and accuracy is fantastic and coupled with the bamboo thumbhole laminated stock make this gun absolutely gorgeous!
Morning all
Morning sir to you also
may you have good day and luck sent from Irelands 🇮🇪 Green shores
Good morning hope you all have a great weekend
I noticed that diagonal pattern, when I've been practicing with my Springer and I noticed that diagonal pattern showing up it's usually caused by me not properly managing the Springer's recoils, it's either my hold is verying between shots, or my rest is not doing its job. I have actually padded my wrist with 3/8 of an inch of closed cell foam, three layers of 1/8 in. And then put a couple of layers of terry cloth over that so that being on the wrist it allows the gun to freely recoil without affecting the point of aim as much. One of the other guys I've shot with recommended testing springers off of a foam pillow. That allows them to freely recoil. Your actual accuracy is probably closer to the width of that grouping.. I've got about a half a dozen springers that I regularly shoot. Only one PCP, it's not as much fun.
I bought this gun some months ago, on the basis of this review, topped it off with a Victoptics 4-16*44 FFP sight and am very pleased with the combination. I have some much more expensive rifles but I do really, really like this Diana. Feels like a quality piece of kit and keeps good company with a late 70s HW35E: Both a pleasure to shoot.
I would buy Diana, never weihrauch.
I have a TX200, king of springers, but I have a couple of vintage Diana rifles.
Thank you Andy, I bought this very rifle, used in .22, on my last visit to Vector Air. I spent at least an hour in there talking to Carl (and shaking hands with Mrs AAR) and Carl brought the gun out while I was making my purchase of a Walther Reign, I had to have it! Not fired it yet but will very soon 😊
Great piece of kit. Ive still got my original dianna from when i was 8 years old 1992 which my dad bort from the second hand shop for 25 pounds puts out 8ft lbs and still shoots a 5p piece with open sights from 22m
I absolutely love Diana’s now own 3 of them last a life time solid German engineering 👍👍👍
Nice review, I'd go for the Beech stock too. For me , it would be the icing on the cake if Diana would offer the stock as it used to be with traditional styling .😊
Can’t believe I used to be able to hunt with open sights.
I bought a Original 45 took it straight out and shot 54 Starlings and a wood pigeon.
Now Starlings are a protected species, a bird that was absolutely everywhere, on every tv aerial and chimney pot ? Why the massive decline?
I couldn’t shoot open sights now, 😄 I got to put my glasses on to eat my dinner 😄
I've got a gamo varment in plastic stock it must be a one off its so accurate and powerful its amazing and there's no way I'd sell it would beat the pants off the Diana cheers take care Jim.😊
"Crikey! We haven't got passed the first 5 or 6 inches yet!" - Andy
Good to see and hear your thoughts on this one Andy, thanks for your time in putting this review up here.
Was very interested in buying one of these but (frustratingly) there is just no stock in the UK. Also seems that only Vector Air have any Diana products ( 460 magnum and 54 air king pro) in stock. Are Diana bothered about selling in the UK? Weirauch were in similar short supply 18 months but seem to be reasonably available now. Come on Diana!
For almost two decades(mid 80s to early 2000s), the 34 and its variants were the springer your simply bought as it worked and was the least expensive option that wasn't made out of recycled tin cans. The issue was the flood of cheap airguns that came soon after and were almost without exception far below this level of quality, which really used to be the lower-end when nothing was made outside of Germany and the U.K. Basically the goal posts changed and everyone got used to buying junk and saying that it was "decent". To this day, I'd still pass on any springer not made in Germany. The difference is that vast for honestly not a lot of money considering that these last decades.
As for the stock, the wood stock is the classic.
Grew up with a Diana 52 so no surprise here, great guns. Found a 48 recently so reliving my youth
thanks for this great review I live in the U.S. and have been trying to find video's on this rifle. I have been interested in it for awhile but your''s is the first video I found on this one with the thumb hole stock which is the one I am interested in. I actually prefer springer's over PCP air rifles even though I own several of both kinds.
Always look forward to your reviews Andy. Not for me personally, I still prefer PCP, but that’s just my preference. When you add a scope, could you provide POV perspective so we get an idea and view of the reticle? Obviously these aren’t a review of said scope, but I always wonder what your view is like.
Brand new rifle, un adjusted trigger and out at 40m. Very impressive accuracy and consistency. With options of sighting and calibre it is a very well rounded offering. For similar money to the HW99s it offers far more in terms of adjustability and performance straight out of the box.
Think the HW99s is around £95 cheaper and with the Rekord trigger and just as accurate I think it's a better buy at the moment but this does look like another great gun from Diana.
I had a 99S and loved it. Bargain gun. Sold it to clear the house of too much stuff before house move. Regretted it. Just ordered one of these! Let's hope it lives up to the promise.
Update: Very pleased with this gun, glad I bought it. Accurate, real quality feel, especially when cocking. Maybe not as good a trigger as my old 35E, but very pleased overall. The heft and bit of recoil give a proper gun feel to it, not quite my Ruger Precision, but a good practice weapon :-)
Usually I am not a fan auf automatic safeties but the way Diana does it is really nice. Push forward with your thumb when you bring up the rifle and it is ready to go. This is the only type of auto safety I don't feel the need to disable.
Sadly I have been to cosseted with PCP air rifles of late. I remember when I could just about hit anything out to 20 yds with and old Webley Junior. Will have to get my Weihrauch HW30 out again. Great review and air rifle.
I wouldn't have been able to keep from shooting those darn flys!! 😂😂😁🤷🏻♂️
I get them ok, with my tx200.
Good morning Andy , sorry Iam late ⏰ again ! . Iam next to the Red Sea 🌊 in Hurgarda Egypt 🇪🇬. I didn’t want miss your fantastic show .
You can never go wrong with a Diana Rifle , built to last just like me ? 😂. Great review of a Great Rifle 🎊.
I hope you’re ok Adam ! Till next instalment next Friday! It’s Salam from me ! Cheers n thank you 🙏
glad your doing reviews on the Diana models , thanks , keep em coming
Nice review Andy A little too long for me but you can't beat a German made springer. I prefer the karbine versions with a quality hardwood stock simply gorgeous ❤. One love to all 🇬🇧🇵🇰 🌹 Ali
Dear I have diana 34 ems black .22 caliber which I purchased online. Unfortunarely i broke front and rear sights. Dear can you guide me where could i find the spares?
I've always been interested in how these springers today would compete with the likes of the Original 45, Webley Vulcan and the HW 35
Hi Andy, can you rewiev air rifle hatsan 105x torpedo? I really wanna know what you think of it
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! I always understood that a springer should never be shot if not loaded. Am I wrong?
Andy, thanks for your hard work and interesting videos. I love your way to explain your point of view.
Great to see you last weekend at woodend, wonder if this gun will group @ 90yrds like its CO2 counterpart did!!!!
Another great video Andy. Can you clarify please? Did you dry fire that without a pellet right at the end? I have always been told that was bad.
Dear AAR / Andy at : 7:57 you said 15.06 joules and the screen read 16.06 joules please verify which 🙏 P.S love all you and miss AAR have put out there it’s the best channel to watch hope I am not gust being picky if I am sorry. ❤
Recently have been getting back into .177 target shooting. Great channel… I just have to replace my fury np with something a bit more accurate
Ah this brings back memories for me .
The first air rifle I bought was Diana G 34 in .22 .
Mine cost me the grand total of ...........10 /6 .....thats ten shillings and six pence second hand in old money . 52.5 pence in new money . whey back when Dinosaurs roamed the earth 😂 .
It wasn't in the greatest nick scratched rusty in places but it
worked .
Was OK for ambushing rabbits which was the main reason for buying it meat for the pot .
I've always wanted to own a Diana.
Just bought one of these lovely rifle it is dose better then most pcp tbf at 12 foot pounds it perfect I recommend you get to you local gun smiths and grab one you won’t be disappointed
That will go over 12 when it’s bedded in ! Mine did😬 awesome rifle so accurate👌
Ideal for knocking around a farm for vermin etc. great review as usual Andy
Is that gun same as Diana 34 T clasic, except for the stock?????
Hi, Andy great presentation, please make videos on various Sniper PCP and Interchangeable barel gun we have in market.
Has there been anyone that has ordered the alternative globe front sight? Diana advertises the modularity of this rifle, but is extremely vague about the parts you can actually modify it with (sights, shims, N-tec conversions, barrels, etc..). Even when you email their customer service directly.
On their website, the 34 EMS variants are the only rifles that have no partslists available.
It seems strange, since I've gotten factory replacement parts for my K98 (460) and 350 Mag within a week of ordering them. It's as if they pretend it never existed.
I'm not trying to make Diana look bad. I'm a very happy customer otherwise. I bought a 350 Magnum Premium instead of this because they just couldn't (or wouldn't?) tell me how to order the globe sight.
You talked about silencer and un-silenced so, Can you add noise level when you do your stats. I use SPL on the iPhone when I’m doing sound at gigs.I think it’s free
Bob
The same as Diana get the springers back in house is there a problem quality control bsa have done the very same quality control or some thing else I am happy bsa springers made in the uk as I am getting another not keen on gamo bsa.
Another superb review. I’m new to the air gun world, but these videos have me hooked! Keep ‘em coming!
My airgun diana 34 ems ♥️
Good morning. Another great review and will be considering this model for my collection.
Another great review Andy, I had one of these for a couple of years, right up to 4 weeks ago, when I traded in for a Weihrauch HW97KT, the Rifle itself was very good, accurate & we'll made, however...it was just too long,, the length of pull was the main issue for me, not to mention the 2 mile long barrel, but overall a good rifle, not quite as good as the HW97 though, but hey ho you can't have everything can you 😉😉
Love a new springer This looks good 👍
Great review. I have the wood stock in 4,5mm. The 34 EMS (Easy Modular System) is a big improvement over the old regular 34. Improved cocking mechanism, Adjustable barrel alignment (to compensate for droop if necessary) I think it shoots as good a my HW99/50. If only it was a little shorter and had a stock as nice as the latest HW's. If you put a silencer on it, it is way way too long.
Are the 177 and 22 rifles the same apart from the barrel? Andy mentions passing the legal UK limit if swapping barrels how would that occur would putting a 177 barrel on a 22 rifle make it more powerful?
@@davylad4804 i would not know since we have no limits on power here in the Netherlands 🙂
O que quer dizer com mecanismo de armar? Estás a falar da alavanca ser dupla?
Features look very similar to my Walther Parrus. Excellent review!
I purchased the wooden beech version yesterday based on AAR reviews. As mentioned by you, it’s a very customisable rifle. I’m seeking a scope to go with it. Please advise. Splendid reviews. Always entertaining. Thanks
Whatever happened to my Diana G79 (circa 1971\2)?
Halcyon days when you could fire an air gun in a back garden and that’s a city back garden too…….
Another excellent review Andy, I have bought 3 guns now based on your reviews . Thanks
There are gasram for the ems-line too. Greatings from germany 👋🏻
I like the angle of the pistol grip on this gun. It's very close to the angle of an actual pistol. I broke my wrist a few years ago and I need a steep angled pistol grip. Mmmmm. maybe a consideration for a new purchase.
I want one. Diana rifles are very nice.
Always look forward to a new review. Cheers Andy! :D
Nice review Andy,,,, I like the Diana brand,,,,, the Diana Chaser has been very good pistol/rifle,,,, always been interested in the break barrels
Those flies soon get the hint when the projectiles hit!
You quote a 12mm dove tail rail ... so does that mean it needs the BSA sized mounts rather than the standard 9-11mm dovetail mounts ?
I know they aren't your thing (Springer's) but is one of these Diana's going to sneak into your collection?
Hi what pellets brand were used for this review please ?
Enyone no were i can get a .22 hand gun, had my Barretta .22 hand gun stolen, I've looked everywhere online certain shops, & there all .77s pisses me off, it feels like thay have just stopped making., .22 hand guns, what's a bumer is i still have my Barretta case, would be very grateful if Enyone knows were i can get my .22 Berretta hand gun back. My last hand gun is a STEYR M9-A1 1.77 for £100 was £120 but bought £20 worth of gas but it feels cheep the trigger is very spungy has a glock style but just not the same as my beautiful Berretta .22 👍
Two daft design decisions in the 34....one, the wedged breech, very easy to clip a pellet tail, use something to seat them with for consistency (or press them in super hard with your thumb)
Then, the most egregious, the transfer port is dog legged from the centre of the tube up to the barrel
The advantages of taking the pressure from the centre are utterly miniscule, the disadvantage of having two corners between the compression tube and the pellet is about 20% velocity
Take barrel off, fill the transfer port with liquid metal, drill transfer port straight through...put a far lighter spring in it for easier cocking, less recoil and more accuracy and don't lose a single bit of velocity
Also, these aren't Mayer and Grammelspecher Diana's, heartbreakingly they were sold to a fishing/airsoft crowd....the finish and the triggers have all gone to pish, which would be fine if the prices had dropped...but they haven't
I'm not THAT convinced these are actually made in Germany, I think they might be assembled there
I think you can increase the power by placing a tiny bit of Vaseline in the rear of the pellet and after a few rounds firing them dry!. No silly answers, please!.
that would potentially be an illegal act here in the U.K. if the rifle shot over 12 ft-lbs, it’s called dieseling and not to be recommended unless the laws of your land allow, it can also potentially damage the gun. Stay safe. Andy
@@AAROnair I have seen this being done on a US video by a young man on a farm!. He also said it damages the seals. Changing the specs should be illegal I agree with you!.
When you said the action was exceptionally smooth, it sounded like you were snapping an antelopes hind leg.
Diana Ar8 good long range airgun
Can you remove that ugly silver stripe thing on the stock?
Completely changed my view of the brand. When I was a kid, many many moons ago, it was perceived as cheap and stay away. So some Vorsprung Technic, seems to have changed all that 🤔
Nice rifle but with scope - is it really "budget"/entry level? Perhaps a go-to vermin rifle for general farm use?
So powerful air gun from german
Is that a portable shooting table? If so what’s the name of it?
Am I the only one that wince's whenever Andy cocks springers? "Way too violent", Slow and steady helps not only for better consistency but also durability of the spring - or was i wrong for my last 36 years of shooting springers?
I like this profesor
No need to pay more.Solid serious hatsan striker edge .22
Hi do a vid with open sights plzx
Ive not got a diana yet. Have a walther century gt. Its fairly accurate, bought it from a guy who got into trouble shooting it in communal gardens, and got it for way way less than it was worth. Total bargain. Triggers is ok and ive never adjusted it. Accurate as amid range pcp. And then i have an airarms tx200 carbine. I love it. Its more accurate than me but i like the break barrel action a bit more. Even a cheap chinese b2, which is still fun to shoot. Id like to add in a lgv, lgu, and hw97 in but thats just being greedy. Plus were do you keep them all
Very nice springer🙂👍
Greetings from Slovakia. Your videos are great. I am planning to buy a Diana 34 EMS air rifle in the 4.5mm 16J wood version, it is the maximum power allowed in our country. I want to ask you what is your opinion about it. The price here is, I think, also very good, €389 for 16J. I really like this air rifle. I wish you all the best.
I thought the rule was to never dry fire a springer.
have you tried the krown land kl92? i want to buy but there aren’t any reviews online. any one in the comment section?
Pretty interesting package!
_The stickers are a bit much tho haha_
Diana have seen that having stuff made in the East is not necessarily the correct way of going about things and are getting back to their quality of old. If anyone has been shooting for 15 to 20 years or more and had even a modicum of Diana experience will welcome the quality coming back.
Looks like you need to have a word with the gardener, grass needs cutting!
HI JUST A QUICK QUESTION HAVE YOU NOT THOUGHT ABOUT DOING SOME TOUR VIDEOS OF THE GUN MANUFACTURERS I THINK IT WOULD BE GOOD IF YOU DID HAVE JUST SEEN A YANK REVIEWER DO ONE BUT THINK YOU WOULD DO BETTER
Great review, what tripod do you use to shoot off? Cheers?
Do you have something against gas rams Andy?
When was the last time you reviewed one?
A spring will last way longer even tho a gas ram can feel smoother...
I tend to recommend springers more than Gas ram rifles myself
@@LowkeyAirgunner Tell my Webley Nemesis it shouldn't still be working after 35 years ;) My Weihrauch 95 breaking a spring in that time.
Gassers are more popular this (French) side of the channel and are fine at >20 joules. In fact are more consistent over time with air volume remaining a constant.
@@docthebiker I can break atleast 3 springs before getting up to the cost of a single gas ram!
But I do like my gas ram until they break 😁
@@LowkeyAirgunner Glad to not have replicated that experience. When I lost the spring I uprated to French power and tinbummed the gun, so no loss
How did the silencer test go “ down on the range “ ?
Gamo arrow pls
You will never get full experience of shooting a full power Springer or PCP due to the UK FPS restrictions...😢
It will always be like a unfulfilled Love Story..
Get an F A Cert if you want more power
Lovely guns spoilt for me by the stupid large plastic foresights, if you could take them off and replace by a counterweight (as in the 54) I'm sure they would sell more, Cometa and others make the same mistake.
