How To Work With Fixed Candles | HAUS OF HOODOO

"Fixed" Candle is an old Hoodoo/Conjure term for dressed, anointed candles.
The word "enchant" comes from the latin "in cantare" which means "to sing".
I use the word "enchant" in this video often because I want folks to understand that the power behind Magic and Ritual is in the chanting, enchanting, praying, speaking things into existence.
The invisible world, the spirit world is darkness and shadows. This is why is more common to see spirits at night and in the dark. We tend to see them as shadows because that's their natural form and darkness is their comfort and natural state. We humans are light. Little beams of light roaming about.
Imagine being in complete darkness and you light a candle. By doing so you have now brought attention to yourself and you have center stage. This is why we light candles during rituals, this is why we light candles to spirits, this is why we light candles to pray. We light candles to have center stage and the audience is Spirits. Your soul casts a light and that's what Spirits see. When you light candles around yourself you go from being a flicker of light to a vibrant bonfire and you have now brought to yourself of the Spirits around you and the Spirits you're directly calling on. Doing anything with a candle will always be stronger because of the attention you're bringing to yourself from the Spirit world. Before we had candles we would call on Spirits by chanting or singing. Chanting and singing raises your vibration which then magnifies your light. There are songs Spirits themselves teach us to sing because the vibration of those songs are a direct call to Spirits when sang correctly. These songs have a vibration, they emanate a frequency that when sang correctly you pull the Spirit right into your space and right in front of you.
When you use a Fixed Candle not only do you have the candle flame to bring the Spirits' attention to you, your prayer/song/chant to make them listen but you also have the power of nature with the herbs and oils. Fixed Candles when prepared correctly and worked with correctly are powerful tools for spirituality and sorcery.
The higher your frequency/vibration the brighter your light. The more devoted you are to your spiritual practice the brighter your light is. The more you pray, meditate, work rituals, and high magic the brighter your light will be. The more you level up spiritually the larger and brighter your light will be. This is why some folks when they ask for something to Spirits or "The universe" they get an almost immediate response and for others it takes some time. The brighter your light is the more spiritual attention and assistance you'll receive and faster. You want to brighten your light and be top priority in the Spirit world? make your Spiritual practice, rituals, magic, meditation, prayers top priority and something you never drop the ball on.

@@sc0901 just getting back to these comments as it occurred to me to remember the fixed candle. I was recently looking for the letter that I read each day while using the fixed candle. Yes, I believe so. This is a new area for me, but when I look back on the last year, many things have changed for the better. I have met a wonderful man. I've changed jobs although I had mixed feelings and frustrations, overall it is/may be a good change in that it challenges me to grow in my field. My altar is still set up as a reminder of those things that are important to me. I am looking to get another.

I have a question that may be very basic, but I have seen the power of fire: how do you keep the candle burning safely even when unattended? If leaving the candle lot is not an option can you light and relight the candle?
You can put fixed votive candles in a bathroom or kitchen tiled area or countertop or a somewhat fireproof place like a shower bench. I would try to keep it off the floor or out of a toilet/waste area. Also, if you have a fireplace, you can put them in there and put a screen in front of it or enclose it. The glass votive is also designed to somewhat extinguish itself if it gets tipped but sometimes they can shatter so best to be careful. But if you have cats or other small animals that you feel could interfere, best to keep it away. In 20 years, I've actually never actually had one catch fire or cause a problem. Like she said, it is really best not to interrupt the burn but if you absolutely must, use a candle snuffer don't blow on it. ;)
