I retired 5 years ago and still have all the Cummins ISX timing tools and sheeve pullers 72 and I still wish I could keep doing it everyday again, loved being a mechanic ❤❤❤ I still go hang out and visit shops in the area 😊😊😊 God has Blessed Me With skills and health
This guy is lucky to know you, because you can't trust the shop's either, like ya said, people want to make money, and dump their junk, and shop's want to make as much as they can. You take care of the people by doing thing's right, and honest. Always love when you put out a video, appreciate the time and knowledge you share with us. G-d bless you and yours.
Thanks Warren, hope your friend heals quickly from his injuries. On measuring the liners like you do makes perfect sense to me, the time it takes to make sure everything is right is time saved on the finished end of the job. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it sir.
Oh man Warren I love how you have the shop at your house so you can take your work home with you when you want to go home I promised my wife when I opened my shop in town I wouldn't be having so many cars in the driveway and wouldn't have all this stuff at home anymore why we both Went down. Cheers To another fellow One man army
I feel bad for the new owner of that semi. Normally when I sell something, I have a list of everything I know that is wrong with the vehicle at that time and any spare parts I have for it. The only bright side is the guy will know he has a good truck for the next 500k miles. Thanks for the Videos, Warren. I appreciate you taking us along for the adventure.
I've always been a pessimist about things and people don't understand. They say you should have a better Outlook . I've always tried to treat people right but I'll tell you what nowadays you can't trust anybody. What a POS this man got taken and that's sad because here he is out there trying to make a buck. And you got to look over your shoulder no matter what you do. Unfortunately he's probably put everything he's got to into this and this is his cheaper way out right now. Need you to go over that truck from front to rear and get on top of everything now
Thanks for another great video Warren. I’ve been so pissed off with my Milwaukee batteries I bought an adaptor from Amazon and I am using DeWalt batteries.
No shit?.. may have to look into that.. I've gotten pissed too...had a 12amp fall apart...as well as others... don't u think all the impacts need isolaters or something?.. idk... whatever...but anyway,👍👍👊
Wow ! De Walt used to produce the worst, shortest lived batteries of any mainstream manufacturer of power tools, they must have had a serious re-think !
You might laugh by I have a Ridgid, that damn thing was under 200 bucks, it has been dropped into a bucket of used ATF, dropped off ladders, and keeps on going.
Have wanted a battery powered impact, but the drill/impact combs do not last long, They are nice convenient tools but they have issues. Can you imagine how EV vehicles are going to be, they can not even make a battery small for a impact last. They are currently building a lithium refinery here in South Texas, will see what kind of mess this new refinery will bring.
Good video Warren. You have the best repair channel on UA-cam. I can’t understand why you don’t get more views. There’s some real shit out there. No one seems to want to learn anything….
You got that right no one wants to learn anything about anything Just mail them a check and don’t waste your time with them Born s tupid and will vote democrat
Hope all is well with you and family check every for your channel hope you havent given up i have learnt alot from you hope you come back on good luck Warren
Thank you Warren, I've got an uncle just exactly like you've described a grade A prick he is. I wouldn't EVER trust him with anything especially when runs a antiques bookshop (over priced ass wipes I call it) and my aunt ain't no better, I only talk to one of my cousin and he hates his sisters to. Sorry about what happened to your bud Warren, there's no many good people like you around Warren. Thank you for the video Warren.👍
warren i always enjoy your videos that you share with all of us and like your rants too, i been watching you for alsmost two years now and i learn something new everyday when share with us and i thank you for shareing with us all, thanks and be safe out there
People don’t want to pay someone like Warren to look over a major purchase before buying. Using professionals saves money in the long run. Great channel Warren.
Great video Warren really enjoy watching you disassemble this engine to figure out what went wrong. Looking forward to your next video of this engine going back together. Thanks for sharing stay safe Warren.
It's the reason I left England and moved to France, I'm away from people that pissed me off, been here 20 years, never go back,, money will be the down fall of friends, and the world, fantastic video.
you're right .i never use old liners to check liner protusion. i'v also been reading on the cummins that most times it is the shim that is wearing.there is a shop in pa. that sells the stainless shims for the cummins that solves that problem.maybe cummins needs to recall those motors . you are a great mechanic, and i respect you for alway's trying to save you're customers money and down time!! keep up the great work.
Hey Warren, great video. Really enjoy your engine rebuild videos. Your knowledge is unmatched as far as I’m concerned. Hope your friend gets well soon, you’ll have to keep us updated on his condition. Thanks much for the video. Take care.
Warren, did you confirm the engine numbers match what shipped on the chassis, they might have taken their 400k isx, and swapped it with another trucks 1million mile engine?? Now they have a new engine in their nicer truck, and sold this one, that was nice only because on the “low miles”
Good morning!! We haven't seen a video since this one! We know your busy, just wanted to let you know we sure have missed you!! Hope you and the family are doing well!! 🙏
What a shame.......from here there looked like pretty good crosshatching in those cylinders......nothing is made to last anymore. All these channels on youtube where these guys go out and pull old trucks out of the weeds that have been sitting for 30 years most of them run like a top when they get them going.
You are the “Master Mechanic sir. I share your love of those doughnuts and well remember first tasting of them way back in 1996 in New Orleans. Can’t get them hear in Australia more the pity.
In my mind I’m doing the work as I follow you and know what tool I’m reaching for next and where it’s at Dang I loved the Cummins and started on 220 and 250
I hope he did of money for that truck 😯. It takes some disassembly to get where you want to be at the Source of the problem warren .. You have done your checks .now have to wait and see how the new liners measure up 👍👍👍👍
Seen this same shit both on ISX and X 15. Some of the problem is especially on X 15 is the shit plastic fucking junk heater hose nipples coming off the engine. They always snap of and it immediately pumps all the coolant out. Then you know the deal Everything gets hot I just did one with 475000 miles Fucked the head had to deck the block Come on it don’t take a genius to figure plastic + heat cycling * vibration = failure
My father had a hard rule to never do deals with family, and he fit pretty well within the family. I have seen this firsthand with family, especially when it pertains to land or possessions, even when it is a legal contract. The world has changed to be one solely of greed, and little consideration is given to if you live or die as a result of the actions of greed. The other thing is that businesses, at least here, are crying for skilled workers while filtering out applications with electronic processes. So, really, do they want anyone to fill jobs, or are they just complaining for the sake of complaining?
Iv "got it loose" a time or 2. Those plastic clips really suck sometimes. Im sure its making its way into heavy equipment too but Im a auto mechanic and man all these cars are plastic bullshit. Valve covers oil pans intakes all this shit is plastic now. Wait till ya work on a chevy cruze turbo. They have a little rubber check valve that is part of intake. They dont sell it seperate just this little rubber piece falls out. it ruins the valve cover and intake. If its ignored it takes out the turbo too. I have one in here that needs 2500 in work on the engine and thats not replacing the engine just parts it needs.
Installing air cleaner pipe on a t880 that son of a gun will not go all the way together if the cab suspension has leaked off. That’s the deal with the pipe not in all the way.
That stinks! It bums me out how many people willfully pass on problems to others... I get that things are used and AS IS is a thing w machines but w the new stuff there are seemingly SO MANY expensive repairs that come. PACCAR has really lost their way... 440k and ya rattling off the list... W900As and mechanical powertrains seemed like such a better machines for the woods... NE corner of Cali is LUCKY to have ya out there W!!!! Cheers from Santa Cruz
So is the problem with the last mechanic who did the rebuild? Or has that engine never been rebuilt? They come from the factory with 0.005" difference between opposite sides of a liner flange? 🤔
Good project..my 2001 f2shity 7.tree has 890 thousand miles all original...still stroking and purrs like a kitten 😸...13 letter shitspreader INTERNATIONAL best diesel ever made...been driving it for 23 years now...wouldn't trade it for a rocketship
I did an oil cooler on one back in Aug and he called back saying it was getting oil in the coolant again. Must be a head gasket. One guy was saying something about an oil port in the engine block deck that has some kind of plug in it leaking into a coolant jacket. I'm not really sure what he was talking about, I've never had the head off of one before.
nox sensor are just smart sensors but have seen them take out the data link aswell, vgt's have terminating resistor (at the very least on 6.7 in freightshaker m2) and the acm on a DD series, thats all i can remember right off top for components with a terminating resistor but that mores freightliner and stars kinda info
Hi Warren... hope you and your family are ok and your alright, I'm guessing your super busy, I haven't heard from you for awhile and missing your video's, not sure you still around. Take care and look after yourself friend.👍
I mean if them piston sleeves are old they will probably be out of round shaped differently cause they get really hot and chamge shape always check them after removing the pistons and the coolant.
@Westerntruckandtractorrepair well, Warren definitely would not have replied like that so we all know it’s not Warren total scam scam, scam, scam, call somewhere else
Could also be that the original machining in the block could be off, before the sleeve was installed. Other thing it could be is poor castings that have stress and shift over time with engine heat
Boy you sure do work hard man by your self and it seems like all heavy work you get into, i think these trucks nowadays are complete junk not good owner operators, that truck is already wore out and the highway trucks are done at 800000 miles
Hi I'm looking to buy a 04 international with a 450 hp Cummings Isx it's in Halsey OR. I'm in Montana. Looks like the oil cooler is leaking. How much should I expect to pay to have someone change it? I'm sure I can do it but I will be riding the train there.

Too bad that guy didn't have you check out that truck before. You're right about Americans. Only money and business matters.
Yes it was a bad mistake not to
3 mins in and I predict a botch job been done on the cylinder head to get it sold.
As usual Warren, an informative, enjoyable video. Wishing the injured man, a speedy as they go recovery.
I’m in absolute shock of your knowledge
You are an enigma
Thanks Warren, hope your friend heals quickly from his injuries. On measuring the liners like you do makes perfect sense to me, the time it takes to make sure everything is right is time saved on the finished end of the job. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it sir.

You gotta love this guy. He tells it like it is. Warren kicks a** and takes names.

@Westerntruckandtractorrepair scam
Thanks for the info Warren! Love watching your vids.
Been seeing a lot of crack heads lately between the valves also check how the valve seats are lately it’s been one or the other
Need a really good machine shop to check it out and fix it up

On the battery topic, I have found the off brand is just as good as Milwaukee but at a fraction of he cost
AMAZING they get as much service life as they do with so little support from either end....

You're right on the wife's class, in french it means I wanted a sammich but didn't have any bread!
On the scissor gear ive always just done one bolt had a old mechanic teach me that the manuel says to do 2 but never had an issue doing one
Great work and spannering 👌💨💨
Concerning the cab network you’re check at the harness the terminating resisters are in the turbo actuator and the one behind the def tank.
Hi Warren... hope you and your family are ok and your alright, I'm guessing your super busy, I haven't heard from you for awhile and missing your video's, not sure you still around. Take care and look after yourself friend.👍

@Westerntruckandtractorrepair no, I know this is a scam, and it not western truck. Everyone else out there please note
@Westerntruckandtractorrepair well, Warren definitely would not have replied like that so we all know it’s not Warren total scam scam, scam, scam, call somewhere else
Another Eastwood movie that gets overlooked but is a great movie is thunderbolt and lightfoot,,with Jeff bridges,,
Hope your friend gets well.
Just curious if you don't mind me asking. How tall is the ceiling in that shop that you are working out of in this video? That is a nice shop.
You can see signs of it being “Craig’s list rebuilt” aka “rattle can rebuild” yup just had the engine overhauled but I lost the receipts…
If anybody is going to sort that truck out , will be you warren , but it does sound like the truck had problems before it was sold 👍

i love your vids. youre a hoot. god bless you for doing what you do

Other thing it could be is poor castings that have stress and shift over time with engine heat
@Westerntruckandtractorrepair scam
Boy you sure do work hard man by your self and it seems like all heavy work you get into, i think these trucks nowadays are complete junk not good owner operators, that truck is already wore out and the highway trucks are done at 800000 miles
Thank you.
Hi I'm looking to buy a 04 international with a 450 hp Cummings Isx it's in Halsey OR. I'm in Montana. Looks like the oil cooler is leaking. How much should I expect to pay to have someone change it? I'm sure I can do it but I will be riding the train there.
did that liner move when you were wiping it off warren ?
watch your video ,I think it moved.
like your video vary mush thanks a lot.
Greed has broken up a lot of families! It took so long to convince my grandpa that diesel tractors weren't junk and we would be able to get them going in the winter and he went to the grave never fully trusting them . That being said I can't imagine if he was around today to see what the government has done to all our diesels to make them totally unreliable . They got no problem starting in the cold now but damed if you can go 1000 hours without the dealer there with the laptop plugged in because of emissions !!!@
The wind blew, the shit flew, couldn’t see you for a hour or two.
Cummins almost never cuts there blocks square with the liners to begin with. I usually check them all and have to cut and shim most of them
Did the air compressor at home pack it in or you just haven't finished hooking it up?
It's still good to be working from Home. Looking great hard working Man!!
All the best from Surrey BC Canada
Check for them stupid ceramic plungers. Everyone knows what they can do to an engine.
Always a gamble buying a used truck with one of these engines. Once you clock over 700,000 kms you are on borrowed time.
Man warren I just about choked eating dinner when you said it’s blowing it right into the intake and hydro lock the damn thing 😂
Hi hope you’re ok/doing well missing your videos but also know you have sometime got to get shit done
You taking about politician ? You’re right
And that's the truth
I have been binge watching your videos for three days now and it’s obvious your a mechanical genius but how in the hell do you keep up with anything in that shop.
Thank you
