great info! I wonder if the game mechanic for builds blocking frags is built around timing of the grenade vs timing of the build. like it seems from your video that the builds that were already up when you threw the grenade were permeable, but the builds you put up after the grenade was thrown were able to block it. I know I have pretty much always been able to shield from grenade damage by putting up a quick build... so there has to be something causing the pass through damage to be an issue. the two bits of information that I would add are: 1: while flying/up on a building, pay attention to how far the grenade flies past the end of the red arrow arc, that way you can always have a fairly easy reference point based on the flight path of the grenade, not just the elevation you are throwing from. 2: grenades stack, so you can throw two super fast by tapping your inventory button after you have thrown the first one. generally an enemy can out build the first grenade, but not the second.
You want to drop it directly on top of them too. If it's next to them all they have to do is build, right above them, they have to _move_ and build. I also use my "dont look back" maneuver, where I toss one behind them then immediately start shooting them. The average players shoot at me, often backing up into my grenade, the good players build, but usually only on one side. Whatever the scenario, knowing the exact drop height has made frags so much more deadly and valuable to me.
Omg I've been preaching this for a long time. A friend and I recently did those exact tests. So the drop height is 26 builds high for dropping it directly below, slightly lower for angles. Use your hand as a frame of reference. At that hight hold your hand next to the player to see how large they need to be in comparison with your hand to know when to drop it while flying. One of the more helpful things I did was simply recording myself pin dropping (even if it fails), then studying it after to fine tune the height I need to be at. There is so much more but this is already too long. Love the video(s)
Interview Saddest Clown on the grenades. He's the best I've seen at using them. He at times throws high from the floor so it still explodes midair on his opponent before hitting the ground.
We recorded this on 3rd, and I decided to use them more in the tourney the next day. Man, now I know a bit more of how to use them (proper distance/angle to throw) and so I got very nice moments with them in that tournament! Very scary. Totally keep practicing them, you'll do great!
I think the grenade mechanics are pretty good compared to most VR games, but I would like to see the damage they inflict to be greatly reduced when exploding on the other side of solid walls. In Pop One there are cement and brick walls that stop Sniper and M60 rounds, so they should also stop at least some of the fragmentation.
That’s explains it. Very often I have a perfect grenade (well from my angle) that surprisingly produce no damage. So, there is a damage-bug there :(. I wonder if it has to do something with the wall, next to the guy. Grenade, that did not give damage exploded next to the wall
Fantastic video (and editing lol) - I thought it was ping related when getting hit behind walls and builds, but I guess its legit a bug/issue. Nice investigating on your part, and amazing building by Mack 😂
Thank you!! 🧡 Oh yeah, nice thought about the ping.. I guess not everything can be explained through it after all:D P.S. Actually, I killed my ass (he said that's how lazy Americans call assistants) a couple of times by accident:D

Interesting theory and Pro tips:)
Yea because when I build and there incoming never get hurt
Elite players always throw two grenades, you cannot out build them for sure, even if there are two of you spam building - but you know that already 🖖🏼

Omg, thank you for the comment! What a research! Very nice thoughts that didn't come to our minds:D
Awesome!

there is a comment from him under this video already:)
@@RadFoxVRuniversity just seeing his comment. Nice!
yeah they quite inconsistent, yet some people still claim they are balanced XD
Well done. Keep them coming. I’m just starting to use the grenade more in my games. 🍌

This'll help so much, thanks alot! Can't wait to see one on zones
Noice! Yup, zone grenades and TNT barrels - both need editing, will be here shortly!
Great video Rad. I have some mischievous complimentary videos coming up (whole squad wipes + the long awaited pin drop master class!). 🙂
Thank you! Noice, master classes are needed:))
Gasp masterclass coming soon 0-0

I agree, I think some walls are just bugged
This is a great video!
спасибо:)
great video ! Enjoyed the information.

Mystery! We can only speculate🙄
Nice video! Gonna keep this in mind the next time I hot drop 😂
That was surprising 😳
Thx Foxy
